      Sampaoli was soo disfuncional the players literally had to rebel against him. That created a rift between local news and journalist and the national team, plus a huge controversy in AFA that allowed some dumbass called "el chiqui" Tapia to consolidate power, Messi was so done with the whole ordeal that he publically announced he was done. To add insult to injury, the players were filmed chanted "y no importa lo que digan esos putos periodistas hay que alentar a la selección", which basically mean "fuck those dumb journalists". After that a lot of players retired, meaning a lot of new faces for the Qatar wc + a new unproven coach chosed directly by Tapia. I didn't expect much, the country was facing a proyected +100% annual inflation and everything was dire. Them, they won it all. It was crazy…

      I love Messi abcs rooted for him too win anything possible all through his career.
      But let’s not forget. Life is not a straight line graph.

      Sometimes, it doesn’t 💯 % depend on Messi or Scaloni there are other factors.
      Such as:
      1. Factors that have to do with the opposing teams.
      2. Factors that have to do with chance.

      Imagine if France 🇫🇷 full squad played the World Cup final.
      Such as pogba, Benzema, Kante, Griezman etc etc.

      Also imagine if Netherlands 🇳🇱 or France🇫🇷 get just two additional penalties right.

      Imagine if someone else in France was as hot 🔥 as Mbappe.

      The story may have been different.

      Champions are made as a result of internal and external conditions around their team.

      I think what I like the most of all of this is the hope we have now with all this new young talent. Before we had so many stars in addition to Messi and kept failing, and this time we knew and know we won't have Messi for much longer, so what would be left then? But now we have a lovely midfield, a beloved goalkeeper, wonderful Julian and a great coaching/managerial team to look forward to when Leo finally leaves us. And who knows, we might even keep discovering new talent in the meantime. This world cup really was refreshing for us. It got us results yes, but it also brought back confidence and hope which were getting shakier and shakier with each missed opportunity.

      2006, he was benched most of the time. 2010, Maradona decided to not work with Riquelme with Messi, the best 1, 2 Punch ever. 2014 they almost won it, they really should have. Another thing is that if he had chosen to play for Spain he would have at least 3 WC chmpionships imo.
      The GOAT debate would have been resolved a long time ago.
