I do think it's just the pace that VVD has lost, but pace is huge. Before the injury there basically wasn't a forward who could run away from him. What a weapon that is to have in your armoury. Losing that quality has to make you feel a little insecure, but the man's a professional. He's had to just get on with it and try not to feel frustrated or think about what might've been. Surely happens all the time with serious injuries, sadly, but what can you do but just try to be the best you can with what you still have?

As biased as it may seem coming from Rory, I do agree James is better than Trent as a FULLBACK. Noone can argue Trent is world class at crossing and general attacking output, but his defending is so so poor.

It’s funny that everyone hails Foden as KDB’s successor, when in his absence Alvarez has been playing in that role. I agree that for now, Foden’s best position is on the wing, and not central midfield or advanced midfield.
