On Monday, Portugal began to prepare for the next qualification round of the Euro 2024 in Germany, although only 11 of the 24 players called up took to the pitch for the first training session.

Head coach Roberto Martinez has called up Joao Felix and João Cancelo, who were acquired on loan by Barcelona on the final day of the summer transfer window on Friday.

Félix spent the second half of last season at Chelsea, while Cancelo did the same at Bayern Munich.

Portugal face Slovakia in Bratislava on 8th September, before welcoming Luxembourg to the Algarve on September 11.

Portugal top Group J after four games with 12 points. The group also includes Iceland, Bosnia Herzegovina and Liechtenstein.
