An instinctive finish from Karim Benzema was the difference between the two sides as Al Ittihad beat hosts Al Okhdood 1-0 on Thursday to move to the top of the Roshn Saudi League standings.
The crucial moment came in the 72nd minute, when Saeed Al Rubaie’s block appeared to have foiled Benzema’s run on goal, but the ball looped up in the air and the former France international cleverly lifted it over goalkeeper Paulo Vitor with his knee.
Al Hilal had ended Al Ittihad’s four-game winning run to start the new season in their previous game, but Thursday’s victory over Al Okhdood lifted ‘The ‘Tigers’ above their title rivals, at least until ‘The Boss’ host Al Riyadh on Friday.

Where are those who say that the Saudi League is easier to score goals than European players? European players will find it very difficult to score goals. Al-Akhdood Club is considered one of the last clubs in the league and does not have European players like Al-Ittihad, and it almost won or tied with Al-Ittihad with European stars.
