Keown really wanted to name Simon Jordan here as one of them critics. Yet Jordan would say he isn't part of media.
I actually listen to a different channel the days Keown is on. Just cannot bear to listen to the bloke.
Was an outstanding talent/prospect until weaker areas were exposed In his game keown saying he still is an outstanding talent is just an insult really.when maguire burst onto the scene particularly in his time at Leicester I was a big fan a deep set defence playing out from the 18 yard box was a good commander and great at heading balls away etc etc not the worst on the ball but not the best either,but it's a different story when ya play in a team that plays invthe manner that utd and england do when you play maguire you're stuck to one system because he can't adapt to the high up defense because it exposes his weaknesses and that's not his fault either maguire is a good centre back and he has done great for england in the past but the teams moving in a new direction and it's one that he isn't apart of because he's proven it to his own club he becomes a liability when it's a system he can't hack.maguire was good but he wasn't as good as he may have believed he was or what he was hyped upto be and he's done hself no favours by staying at a club that's let him know you're down the pecking order they dont rate him he's an ole signing ten hag signed martinez he's gonna go with his signings if anything.hes can be a good centre half on his daybinbthe right team/system but he aint one of the elite known is talking pants once again.

Whatever we say is right or wrong about Maguire treatment, it's unbelievably obvious Martinez and Varane are better than Maguire. Just look at the Arsenal game, as soon as Maguire came on Utd immediately had to change what they were doing, for the worse. How can an ex player not see something so obvious.

Maguire bad games for England:
Denmark. Red card after a horrific touch
Germany. Lost possession and then conceded a penalty and then lost possession and a goal was given away
Scotland. Own goal due to sticking out a lazy foot
Senegal. Worst passing on the england team, senegal stopped pressing
France. Lost a header against Giroud and before that, got caught under many crosses which required Pickford to make point blank saves
Italy. Had a hand in the goal
Iran. Had a hand in a goal

Harry Maguire is a pro athlete who should be able to take a bit of criticism or even boos

I love when Jim asks who specifically has gone overboard with criticism of Maguire, Keown doesn't have an answer, the bottom line is Southgate keeps putting Maguire in that position, his own club manager doesn't trust him so why should he?
Soo many professionals get a lot worse if they are as bad as Harry at their own job so please, make it be known how bad he is and carry on boo'ing. If the heats to much then walk away from you £200k per week job.

The facts are Maguire doesn't start and barely plays at club level. Even if he was the best English CB, he's not match sharp and isn't in good form. These reasons a lone should be why Maguire shouldn't be in the England squad. The fact Southgate keeps picking him and putting him in the position to be criticised is beyond me, just to then come out and have a go at everyone for voicing their opinions. Southgate needs to wake up and smell the coffee. We have so many brilliant players that should be playing/given chances. Stop being stubborn and play them! We have come close to winning the euros and got to the semis and quarter finals of 2 World cups. If we improve the team by not picking players just because they have done well before (Maguire, Phillips and Henderson) and pick players that properly deserve it. I genuinely think we could go all the way! We have so many good players and such a good calibre of potential in our youngsters. They need to have a chance!
