  1. I think its not bad but i feel that we were very sluggish getting the deals over the line in time and if we had acted quicker we couldve had more options and more players but overall not unhappy

  2. Jack affection and admiration always but the striker has never played in 2years in UK, and the centre back who was immediately moved on on PL promotion. Surely you accept the clubs finances are far from healthy. With the window done time for Webber to move on. Otbc

  3. This final day for me perfectly epitomises Norwich in the transfer window.

I thought the people we brought in were solid and I’m fine with Andy leaving, issue for me was the manner of it all.

I keep hearing fans praising the staff for the last minute wheeling and dealing. Why was it last minute? Could Andy not have been sold earlier in the window and the money invested then in finding a viable long term replacement.

As for the new forward, I love the pick up. I’ve been saying for years the Asian leagues and players are a largely untapped market, they have some phenomenal talent which for some reason doesn’t break the bank, but the signing is a loan. If Hwang tears it up for us, which is believe is very likely, then he’s going to return to his parent club. One of the reasons we perpetually fail I think, is that we rely on loan signings. Most years we go up, one of, if not our star standout, is a loan player, perhaps we have multiple. That player immediately returns to their parent club and when we arrive in the Prem, we’re an inferior team than we were the year prior in a lower division.

I’ve seen so many loan players become folkloric figures during their spell, only to leave months later. I would have loved this to have been a permanent or to have gone in for Jamal Lowe permanently.

Overall, I think the business has been solid on the final day, I just wish it was handled better. We’ve made 37.5 mil supposedly that window and spent less than between 5-10% of it. I’m not advocating for wild spending, but it would have been nice to have seen maybe 1/4 of that money reinvested into the squad, especially for our defence. Can’t complain though, overall happy.

  4. Not overly unhappy but far from happy either! With the club so apparently cash strapped at the moment is it time to ask what is happening American take over as it’s gone very quiet

  5. I think it’s been a very good window overall, and our squad is strong – when Sargent returns, we’ll have real strength in depth in the striker department, and there’s a great balance of experience and young players. The biggest plus for me though, is that there are now a lot of players with a positive attitude and good mental strength. I would be very surprised if we didn’t make the top six, and not surprised if we made the top two.

  6. Jack, the problem I have is back in the summer Webber spoke to media and said if big Andy left he had a list of players ready to go and sign.. I very much doubt batth was on that list.. I have no problem with the lad but it shows the lack of planning though

  7. I know little about Ui-Jo Hwang but personally this is the best NCFC news I’ve ever received. I live in South Korea. Following Norwich has been difficult but now that we’ve signed a Korean National most Norwich games will be televised on domestic telly.
By the way, I once shared my good news that I landed my dream job. When you asked for details, I didn’t share more because I was being coy but now I can share. I landed a teaching job at Korea’s top performing school (ranked 25 worldwide). I live in Jeju-do. It’s paradise. I couldn’t be happier.

  8. Injuries happen and with so many of the under 21s already playing we have filled the gaps with reliable experienced players instead of playing people out of position. Barrth looks to be a solid signing, Huang knows where the goal is and the young players will get game time. Wagner tends to use 5 subs expertly so this should make a good balance.

  9. Big Andy better than Godfrey!? Lol absolutely no chance. Hes definitely overrated by some of our fans, £11m is great business. He will never play for Forest in the Prem.

  10. On Big Andy, if the fee is any less than 20 million it has to go down as a loss for the club after Webber admitting they turned down more money than Ben Godfrey in January.
If they turned that down only to sell him for 5-8 million less in the summer that’s a big mistake.
Not great for the model when you combine that with selling Aaraons and Cantwell for much less than they could have gotten at their peak

  11. Ui-Jo Hwang looks class – he can score Sara-type goals from outside the box and Pukki-type goals taking on defenders 1 v1, running into the box and slotting the ball in the far corner – he's also handy with his head! If he hits the ground running it could be difficult for Sargent to regain his place! Shame to lose big Andy as he could be ideal in the Prem if/when we get there – but I understand the financial situation. Danny Batth will bring seasoned pro experience and is a skilful battler who I expect will give 100%. Will be interesting if Ogwuru gets a run out in the first team and we uncover a diamond! He must be pretty good to be at Man City and the chances of him breaking into their first team would be rather slim! Altogether, a good final close to the transfer window – now lets go thrash Rotherham!

  12. Very optimistic shame about Sargent as he was finally showing his quality in his preferred position but we can’t stop dodgy keepers jumping on our strikers backs . Happy with the replacements and looking forward to seeing our new striker in action

  13. Its okay Jack Jonathan Tompkinson's loan deal to Bradford (where I live) was cancelled due to Omobamidele leaving for Forest… We have our 4th Central Defender, I would have been angry had Mark Hughes got him up here, Tompkinson is a good 4th central defender emergency, also how long for Grant Hanley to return? 💛💚

  14. I think that the absence of Josh Sargent is a huge loss for the next few months. Jack you were spot on with your description of Josh’s play so far. I think we will see that Josh’s presence on the field goes far beyond scoring goals.

  15. Hello. Forest fan here. The transfer of Omobamidele to Forest seemed to come completely out of nowhere. The fee has been reported variously: BBC said £11m, but I also heard £20m. Centre-back was a position we needed to strengthen this summer. It's very unclear how Cooper will use and introduce Omobamidele; Cooper has a very cautious mindset. Plus we signed another young CB.

  16. Forest fan here. HWANG was a totally pointless signing for us. Why we bought him last summer, at age 30, with the intention of him immediately going out on loan made no sense at all. Supposedly we paid £6m for him. He was never gonna any PL appearances for us. Total waste of money for us. We needed to move him on this window. Glad someone took him.

  17. What a joke of a club. Selling Omo, our best and brightest defender, for £11m… To Forest who could have afforded at least double that and have way too large a squad already.
Pathetic bit of business that the club have shrouded in poor replacement signings. And fans are lapping it up once again. 🤦🏼‍♂️
