Banging on about winning silverware for the last 57 years is tiresome and boring! England have had better managers and players since '66 and continually come up short. If you honestly think this is a "golden generation" then you're in deep trouble.
True words. Southgate is sending a terrible message to all other players, who deliver top performance at their clubs, when he selects Maguire and Henderson for the starting XI. The English game often looks uninspired, but due to their talent they have to be more dominant. And by god, I can't see those two holding midfielders anymore…in every single game, whether they play against France or San Marino. Why not selecting Foden next to Bellingham and Rice in central midfield? Croatia also plays Modric and Rakitic in midfields and it works well. Southgate is such a chicken, after Euros we will talk about missed chances again.

I believe we saw for the first time frustration showing on the players faces and the safety first tactics from GS is just stopping the players from playing. He must go before its too late.
Or maybe… England just isn't that good. Yes they have good individual players, but you need a team to excel. Look at Scotland for example, they are a team united, whereas England has too many egos, thinking they are better than what they actually are.

I have followed England since world cup 2018 qualification and I was surprised with all the top class players of England.. thye fail short…and since I said this coach will never win nothing for England…he is a looser manager…

Southgate has always had a problem with picking an actual lineup, not to mention our large arsenal of talent on the bench that he doesnt utilise.

Baffles me that English people think they're currently in a golden era. Your best goalkeeper is playing for Everton, and not shining for them. your defence is a meme. "b-but our midfield!" Lampard and Gerrard make Rice and co. look like under 21's.
