  1. I loved this video it was nice to hear from Shawn’s perspective. I watched that live and maybe 100x since and still love it. Shawn and Nastia are 2 very different gymnasts and I appreciate both Shawn’s power and Nastia’s elegance long lines.

  2. I watched her video where she reacts with her husband on their own channel a few years ago – and there she said she literally did this routine from muscle memory. She didn't have a solid performance in the back gym, she kept falling and Chao made her do it over and over again because he wanted her to stop thinking, so when she got out there, she somehow did just that and did the whole thing off muscle memory, which is what Chao wanted.

  3. I want Shawn to interview the 2008 Team China Women’s Gymnastics team on her YouTube channel. I think that would be such a cool video! I love that the USA & China teams were so friendly with each other. Rooting for the whole rest of the world and their athletes and people to thrive and succeed is one of the best things about the Olympics for me. 🌍🏆🕊

  4. i'm team nastia, but actually this beam performance was pure perfection. she really deserved that. they were both amazing. i prefer nastia per personal taste but they obviously were both gold athletes

  5. I feel like its that minset we get sometimes where we're like "I'm gonna give 100% in practice" and then when you actually get onstage and it's your moment, you psych out the pressure and just hard focus, and you give 110% because now you're actually giving it your ALL

  6. Imagen being her coach watching her backstage failing feeling like, this is gonna be the worst routine EVER and then Shawn nails everything and you’re like, did she just mess around with me to make ME nervous 🧐

  7. Wow the editing on this is really detracts from the content. Let Shawn speak for herself! We don't need sound effects or other vfx, she's interesting enough on her own.

  8. I know it’s a lot to ask, but I would love to se Svetlana Khorkina UB EF 2000 routine. Just her reaction after a dramatical AA competition.

  9. “We’re all doing our best and that’s all that matters” this brought tears to my eyes and inspiration to my heart!! Love that. Love Shawn!

  10. I live in Brazil and in my english course I presented a work based on Shawn and this gold medal when the teacher told us to present something about a famous american. It was 2009!
