Harry Kane became the most expensive player in Bayern Munich’s history, when he moved from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. Although the move wasn’t a great surprise by the time it was finally completed it had survived meddling executives, prankster journalists and a dramatic late crisis.

Charlie Eccleshare explains, Craig Silcock illustrates.

  1. honestly im just glad its over. i was sick and tired of every sports media covering every inch of this story, headlining it every day. made this summer quite boring transfer news wise.

  2. Levy expected kane would broke down due to all of these harassments, so that they could labeled him as disrespect and disloyal, but kane stayed calm and the transfer went well as it should be

  3. Great video! Please can you make a video on what constitutes tapping up? I just feel like 15 years ago if the coach met up with a player about joining their team it was a big no no. And all summer it seems like every player had agreed a deal in principle with clubs before the clubs have even began negotiating

  4. Kane was part of the problem at Spurs. He doesn’t have a winning mentality. He had plenty of chances to “win trophies” at the club but always went missing.

That’s why he’s gone to Bayern. The farmers league. No pressure at all. An easy touch where they win the title blindfolded. Meaningless “trophies” for a serial bottler.

PS: selling a 30yo for £120m with 9mths on his contact is hilarious 😂 Levy has absolutely rinsed them.

  5. I dont understand the Kane hype. I mean he literally is only some weeks there. He is a good player and their most expensive player, but come on. His debut literally was a total disaster… Not his fault still a total disaster…

  6. I thought Harry Kane would have at least stayed at Spurs until he broke Alan Shearer's goal scoring record but its understable that time is running out for him to win major trophies which he hasn't done in his entire career

  7. At least levy has Tottenhams interests at heart and actually represents the golf club well. Most Tottenham like clubs just get bullied around by clubs like united, city and bayern

  8. As much as I often despised Kane for his antics I still have a lot of respect for him. He gave an overwhelmingly mediocre Spurs team the best years of his career out of loyalty to his childhood club and I think nobody, not even the Spurs fans can be mad at him for leaving in search for titles. I still hope he doesn't win any, but that has more to do with my distaste for Bayern than with Harry Kane 😉

  9. I think even the most fickle of English football fans are happy this move finally happened. As a Newcastle and England supporter, this sort of move for the captain of the country can only be good. Its likely there are many people, like me, across the country now with an interest in watching Bayern Munich matches. Hoping and wishing the move comes off for him and he gets some well deserved silverware.

  10. i was actually more surprised that Madrid didn't enter the race for Kane after Benzema exodus, it's not many world class no 9 in europe right now, besides Haaland and Osimhen, Kane was the best no 9 in the market.

  11. Spurs will never get to be successful as long Levy is still at the club, they had two worlds class managers and still failed, same story as man u.

  12. The fact that they had to convince Kane to move just goes to show how unbothered that man is when it comes to winning trophies.
