I would have Simon as my lawyer anyday but footballers aren't property. Any proposal made after signing on the dotted line should be considered even if it is pass consideration. He wants to better his career.

Think these players should realise where they were at when they signed the contract,clubs should sue the players agent.
These conversations are always complicated. Contract or not he's an at-will employee. He should be allowed to work where he wishes. Wolves are good to be rid of player that doesn't want to play there just like any of us in our career choices. If players started pushing for 2 year deals and expanded wages for anything over we'd really be in trouble. if any of these pundits decided to depart for Sky or BT tomorrow we'd all be like this sucks but good on him for improving his prospects. Why does a club get to control players. They're going to end up getting a unionized American sport style system. UK fans are stuck in yesteryear.
There needs to be something in place to protect clubs against this mercenary behaviour, it's at the po8nt in what's the point in giving out long contracts etc if players can just do this…. absolute disgrace

He's a premiere league proven midfielder so what they paid for him is of little consequence…. the need to hold their valuation. I don't think it's a morality issue, but it shows a lack of professional conduct. If his agent has told him to do this, then his agent has basically told him to conduct himself in an unprofessional manner and he's really boxed himself in for future. Smile now cry later perhaps.
No one would have anticipated Leeds talismanic midfielder Philips to wash out at Man City after training under Bielsa. If Nunes doesn't get first team football at Man City he's done some damage to his reputation in the process…. and yeah Simon is right, the agent doesn't give two $#!T$ because they really only get paid when they move players. The agents who actually manage their players career and development is few and far between…. the lion share are just headhunters looking for fees on deals.
The average agents dream player is a super star who wants to make a move every summer.
They should change the law or rules at clubs!! If you refuse to play then you shouldn’t get paid anything!! That would soon sort that problem out

The caller that brought up Ruben Neves, spot on. Guy was linked to so many big clubs, said he wanted UCL but he never ever did something like this. Matterface an absolute melt btw, but judging by the comments here, I'm not alone in thinking that.
Can't compare to Mahrez Simon. Mahrez gave Leicester 3-4 seasons and helped them win the league. He had outgrown the club. Nunez has been at Wolves for 1 season and has been a fraction of the player for them that he was supposed to be.
Wolves should never play him again. And surely he's in breach of contract?

Sack him. Pay him nothing and sue him for breach of contract. Not sure what he earns a week but it's probably 4 or 5 times the average fans annual salary.
