The best form of respect is to beat your opponent swiftly and let them know you're not holding back. It applies to every great player in any sports, including Messi. Ale, struck it on the head!! This is what made the RM and Bayern Munich Champions League matches amazing losing or winning against Barcelona with Messi. I'm no fan of either of the three, but what made them spectacular, was teams came in and had to scrap out and not f*** up one bit or else it would spell a loss. It's taken well talented teams to have beaten that squad, because players respected how good Messi was, but also understood the task and that there was a time and place. I haven't even thrown my team, Atletico Madrid and the great wins they slapped on Barcelona during those spells. I can only wish my Sounders are a team to beat Inter Miami, but they have issues of their own and barely look like they can beat a u-19 squad.

FC Cincinnati didn't play within the 120 mins. like they were in awe of Messi, matter of fact they were the better team. You give your all on the pitch and plan whatever for the end of the match. They did… They competed and lost. They don't have to lose the opportunity of taking pictures with the guy too… I don't agree that planning to have photographs or autographs before the match shows they were not willing to compete. It's the game and it is what it is… You can plan for those things and still compete which they did… They lost in extra-time. Give them some credit
