Iker Casilas of Madrid wasn't the tallest iether but one of the best goalies.

Ramsdale signed a new contract recently. Rayas buy option is 27m so if ramsdale still dont improve arsenal can sell ramsdale for top profit.
I wonder if the loan deal helps Brentford somehow get around the sell-on clause they have with Blackburn. Not sure but it seems pretty unusual to give a star player away on loan, albeit, Raya was going into the last year of his contract and apparently was keen on Arsenal.
I think he will become our number 1 sooner than most people think
we signed him so that we can play route one football when things go wrong
I think we forget how young Ramsdale still is and how long keepers play for, Raya seems like the perfect mentor for Ramsdale as well as strengthening our squad.
Problem for the club next season
Raya is actually 5 cm shorter than Ramsdale. So I still believe Ramsdale can keep his spot. But he urgently needs to up his distribution play.

Remember martinelli and saka tend to stretch the defense hence finding any of them is easier for a GK

you should check Ramsdale's long ball stats before Jesus got injured. That would be kinda comparable. after that we had 0 players to get long balls, even when Jesus got back.
I hope this signing makes ramsdale show him his going to have to do more than his ever done to take his place
If raya was there to create competition we could have simply kept leno for one tenth of the money. He's here to play against teams that press high (with havertz) and/or take the no1 spot.
Also the high save rate stats are incomparable as arsenal let through less chances on goal than Brentford
Signed Raya for #1 goalie. Moved the £27m to next year so they can pay it off by selling Ramsdale next year. But they have safety net if they were wrong about Raya.
Turn it around. Why is Raya keen to come to Arsenal. Does he simply think can replace Ramsdale?
He’s a good goalkeeper but it doesn’t look like he has the attributes to become an elite goalkeeper like allison, Ter Stegen and Courtois. But yet again he’s a upgade on Turner and having 2 very good goalkeepers is a luxury these days

Cech was a good GK in Chelsea with the likes of Terry in front of him…he was horrible at Arsenal.

I think Matt Turner wanted to move on, so we had to find another GK and Raya was too good an opportunity to pass on. This will push Rambo to be better and now I’m much more confident going in a cup game.

How can you put ramsdale down for not completing long passes when there’s no1 up there tall enough to aim for
Market opportunity, similar style of play to what Arteta wants so he can afford to play a no 2 (feel with turner was a bit too much of a drop off), Raya likes our GK coach, he wants trophies and probably does like Arteta. it's a win win all round I'd say.

I wont be surprised to see Raya start on Monday…. One of the reasons Arteta went for Havertz and Rice over Mount and Caicedo respectively is because of their height and he will want to utilize that advantage to the fullest at least till Jesus is back.
The stats are too far apart to ascribe it to the team Raya played for alone… especially the % of launches completed.
Ramsdale have the advantage of playing better in away games.
We need this level of competition in every position, NOT having SalibaVSHolding in RCB ,JesusVSNketiah in CF or SakaVSNelson in RW
Arsenal are taking all competitions seriously this season. Think about it at one stage last season Rambo was playing in the UEL because Arsenal had no one else to turn to once Turner got injured. 3 other competitions plus the PL Two good keepers needed Team work
