The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed Cardiff City’s appeal over paying the first part of the transfer fee for Emiliano Sala after finding his transfer had been fully completed before his death in January 2019.
Cardiff have been ordered to pay Nantes €6m, as per a FIFA tribunal in September 2019.

I don't get what is so hard about splitting the fee. £3,000,000 to each club so that neither really loses out. Or £2,000,000 to each club and then the other £2,000,000 to the family of Sala. Out of due respect.
The decision is correct. He was the property of Cardiff when he died.
Shame on Cardiff City
just send it into charity jesus christ
The fee is a drop in the ocean
What a sad organisation. All they care is 💰
this guy is died in private jet seriously
Disgusting they had the nerve to appeal it. Should have sanctions for it
Cardiff's higher up's and management should be ashamed of theirselves. Disgusting how they treated Sala, leading to what happened. Then now this, they're honestly scum.
now that the money has been confirmed the money part of the money should be donated to the players family, just a sad situation all round.
they didn't include insurance clause for said reasons in the contract this is utterly Cardiffs problem.
A man loses his life and people are complaining about losing money 🙃
a guy dies and two idiots are fighting over who gets paid? Tf? Picture what the family thinks
Ths one most disappointing things I ever came a cross 2 clubs fighting over a few pound .wen to family's life's will never be the same again sad .rest in peace Emiliano and David
"English Football"
I was so sad when I heard he died
I couldn't believe it
I really can't believe it's been so long since he died
Cardiff City are an absolute embarrassment. Can only wish that they find themselves in extreme financial hardship and cease to exist.
Cardiff looking bad
Just pay the fee and let the man rest in peace
That 6 million pound should go to his family.
I actually think Cardiff are in the right here. None of this is their fault
Embarrassing that they even want to argue it
Cardiff trying to take money, when in reality they are to blame for the whole thing. They should be the ones paying his family millions, not taking millions under his name.
Don't get the people saying how shameful and disprespectful? After all cardiff is a champsionship club and in a real world 6m euros is a lot of money
I would argue Nantes is in the wrong here
People are criticising both clubs, well emotions aside this is a business. I know it's sad to see situation like this but still it's a business
Extremely sad and disgusting
I’m guessing it would’ve been cheaper to make sure he flew on a safe plane… take it as a lesson learned and be grateful it’s only money you lost. His family lost much more
genius upload, good job!
So shocked acting like dogs over a dead man show some respect
As a cardiff fan we have been disgraceful throughout the whole thing, 3 and a half years later still fighting over money. Absolutely appalling
I back cardiff I understand that paperwork and medical was completed but he didn't play a single game or anything in fact nantes using a dead man in order to get extra cash is appauling.
To be honest, its not actually Cardiff's fault. It very unfortunate but Sala after completing his paperwork, went back to Nantes to say goodbye to hia teamates but tregady struck on his flight back which was booked by an agent at Nantes. He passed under Nantes' jurisdictions not Cardiff. Nantes should be emberrassed for trying to hustle money from a dead man and their very own player
Cardiff is disgraceful, he was their player… for 1 day or 1 decade you stand behind your own. No class. Take the L you’ll come…
Ofcourse they have to pay. Cardiff for real the worst club now 🤮
Embarrassing
Cardiff and Nantes should just both cut their losses and be done with it. A man has died ffs!
Horrible club Cardiff.
RIP Emiliano Sala, an unjust and fully preventable death 🌹
Both clubs are wrong to be quarrelling over money whilst the investigation of this tragedy is still ongoing.
Saying that though any money that is to be paid should be paid directly to the family for they can use it towards hiring top lawyers to get the answers they respectfully deserve.
RIP E.Sala 🙏
The audacity of them! They tried to smuggle him to Cardiff on a shifty plane, and for what? To appease football fans? Football schedules? What will his parents get? The level of corruption that wealthy people have access to is disgusting and even more devastation claims victims in senseless ways. Whoever had him put on that plane should be sent to prison also.
Very strange. The goods were not delivered. Why do Cardiff have to pay?
