Can't blame neves for taking that money but he is not worth that .actually crazy how much footballers make its not fair on the people who have real jobs
Strange one Dave but a good deal for Wolves 👍
They own Newcastle aswell they will loan him to them
If Ruben is off to Saudi and it's real big money well fair enough. Just hope he's weighed up the fact that Wolves will secure a Champions League place next season ☺😅 and miss that Holly Grail of European. 😃 Football, Come On Me Babbies!
Hiya Dave, this has taken me by surprise but I hope he can make a shed load of money and then goes to a Champions league team! COYW, Always Wolves 🐺
Such a random move! He said he wanted Champions League football, he can't get it, so he jets off to Saudi Arabia….
Staggering that not a single european club are prepared to buy such a fantastic player from us. Anyway, good luck Reuben your football path is paved with South Arabian gold. Will always remember you with greatest affection. Wonderful player. Wonderful bloke. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
£47 million is good for us anyway. Won't get that anywhere else. Plus he won't be playing against us. Hope we have a good deal to buy him back. Ronaldo's team as well so I guess there was some input there.
Still our best player last season…..going to miss him.
You have to remember as well that the money they get paid there is also tax free.
I guess we would do the same if they offered you ten times what you get paid now for two years
Well we get a big payout which is great for us and we had some fantastic years from him plus he will make a ton of money. If his goal was to play championship football he's got more chance of that staying with us than playing in Saudi which made me smile. Good luck to him and glad it's not a Prem side that got him.
Sad to see him go, but nearly 50 million for us and 500k a week for him cannot be turned down. Only worry I have is will he end up at Newcastle after as they are the same owners
Maybe he plans to play with Saudi team for a few years and then go to Porto. He still might get a shot at the Champions league.
Gave us 6 good years of service, exceptional player, money obviously does talk, change of direction from wanting to play Champions league, Dave if you remember his cryptic clue to Moutinho when he left, we will meet up again, you know the place, i know he is linked to another Saudi Arabia side, but Saudi was probably the answer to his clue, good business by wolves making a £32m profit on him
I suppose it gives you a good life away from the media in one way with a nice sum of money. Who is to say what a good life is? But saudi is not proper football. It is just not football!
He's had a good run for you. Use the money to strengthen the team
The cryptic message he posted for Joao makes sense now they will probably meet in Saudi Arabia sad to see him go but an extra 20 mill on what Barcelona were rumoured to be paying I think we should be pleased with this deal sorry to see him go though
"Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund has taken ownership control of four soccer clubs in the Saudi Pro League—Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, and Al-Ahli—as part of the Kingdom's newly announced Sports Clubs Investment and Privatization Project"
Hello! Hello! Hello!
They also own a certain Newcastle United FC. Expect Ruben to go to Tyneside on loan next season! 😃
Hi dave, will be sad to see ruben go mate great player wolves legend, i aggre mate nice windfall for the club money to spend, its a pity he never got his dream move dave but as you said its a win, win,all round im sure he will shine no matter were he plays fabulous footballer as he is, we will all miss him for sure he's done his stuff at the wolves some great times but its time he gets his just rewards mate,am I gutted to see him leave you bet ya i am but its football at the end of the day so good luck to ruben,,,thats me dave as ever always wolves 🐺🐺💚💯🙏✌️
Love you Dave, but it’s not win win for us we are most probably loosing the best player we ever had, sad
He’ll be back here on loan with Newcastle
If I was Ruben I'd go do 2 years in Saudi be set for life afterwards and then return to one of the top 5 league's plus he'll score goals for fun over there which will help his stock
I think it’s a good move for Wolves,For Ruben I’m not so sure money wise it is but what is the standard of football like there he could spend 2 to 3 years there and then come back to Europe would he be at the standard required after playing a number of years in Saudi
€55m / £50m is great money if it happens. Can’t blame Neves for wanting to set his family up for life. Can then move on to Europe when he is still only 28 or so. Let’s hope we spend it wisely…..🙏
We can afford Alex Scott and Gyokeres with that fee!
Great servant for Wolves. Exceptional talent, wonder strikes and one of the few to be able to pick a pass before it arrives at his feet. He has provided so much joy for fans and been an ambassador for the club. Wish him all the best and thanks for the memories.
Dave, great news if it's confirmed. For the club, £47m, for Ruben, untold personal wealth and lots of opportunity to play Champions League down the track as he's only 26. The only slight concern is that this Saudi club is owned by Newcastle's owners – we wouldn't want to see him back in the Prem in a black & white striped shirt! Always Wolves!
Love him he has given us everything even a lot money to strengthen our team , all the best Ruben WWFC RULES OK
At least he won't be going to a cheque book side in the premiership.thanks for the memories and we will never forget you.😁👍
I understand Reuben wanting to play Champions League football, but this move, if it happens, is all about the money. There's no Champions League for Saudi teams…
Good luck to you neves, you deserve it ,will miss seeing such a talented player one of the best we have seen at wolves
I will miss Ruben if he leaves, he's been a great captain for our club. But 47 million is a fantastic offer and it will do the club a lot of good.
Ruben, you go lad with all our blessings look after your young family, make life very comfortable and if you can make your fortune💰💰💰in the next 2or3years and still be a young lad with maybe 8or10 years left to win them big European and premiership trophies,?? Good luck you deserve this fantastic opportunity, thanks for everything you have done for wolves in your time here, God bless you, enjoy. you might even return to us one day👏👏👏👍🤞🤞🐺
Very happy for him, couple of years earning some good money and will still be young enough to get a top European club transfer later on. Good money for us too, win win situation 👍🐺
He's finished playing for the national team then. What a loss for Portugal.
That's magick news Dave. 47 million for neves who has only 1 year left on his contract.
Let's hope we get an offer for traore before he leaves for nothing.
He was expected to go, and if it's some 47 million pounds, then hopefully Wolves can get two to three new players in. Thank you, Ruben, for your brilliant service to the Wolves.
This move could break the mould of older players moving to SAUDI for final big playoffs??could be very interesting to see if others now follow
Good outcome for Wolves as they get the money he’s worth. Barcelona wanted him for next to nothing. Problem is Saudi’s will ruin the game as money talks.
His heart will always be in Wolverhampton. Good luck Ruben and thanks for the memories.
Very interesting shift Dave. Thanks as always for the news mate 👍🏽
Just the start Dave. The revenue from actual gates in this country is peanuts compared withe streaming revenue from the far east. How long before Saudis take over the Premier League and all games will be played over there. Can you remember when top players wanted to pit their skills against top players? Not any more, as they are just following the money now. Flights out there will be booked at the same time as you buy yor Match or Season Tickets!!! British fans being sold down the river.
Neves has been fantastic for wolves and has always given his all for us on the pitch.
He said he wanted champions league, but lets face it if hes on £600.000 or more a week its a no brainer, who in the right mind is going to turn that down, and at 26 he can still go to a top european side in a couple of years and live his dream.
Thanks for the memories Reuben and for the best goal i have ever witnessed at molinuex against Derby.
Good luck hope it works out.
When the Wolves qualfy for European Football next season we 'll gladly have Neves back in Summer 24..I have to agree that the goal against Derby that evening at Molineux was the best I ever witnessed too !
Is this all a scam by Newcastle United to get around the FFP rules?…… I have heard that Rubens new Saudie team will "Loan him out" to Newcastle for next to nothing
Sad to see Neves to go but what a legend. Full respect to Ruben as he could have let this saga drag but hes agreed, got the deal signed so Wolves can use the funds to rebuild the team. I wish Neves all the best and l think he will return to Wolves as a player once again. #thankyouNeves 🏆
Good business for the club but baffling. Why go to the back of beyond? Obviously money. There must be half a dozen Premiership clubs who would have taken him.
This gives us three years to get into the Champions League and then Neves will come back to Wolves…
Sad to see him go but he’s been a great player for us but deserves the chance to earn big money and champions league
