  1. Just to clarify, this isn’t the referee’s fault. He did the best he could. It’s Paul Tierney’s fault as the VAR official for not even calling the ref over to the screen to check, and just dismissing it entirely.

  2. Well said Warnock, this 'clear and obvious error' is a cop out, a get out of jail card for refs and VAR. No culpability, I'm getting sick of it now, been saying it for years.

  3. If this is as a united player everyone would be saying it’s a definite red and he should have a 6 months jail sentence for assault

  4. I don't understand how VAR is still in such shambles after all these years. They will decide an offside by millimetres when you could never expect a 4th official to spot it with the naked eye but won't send the ref to the screen for something like this.

    How badly have you messed up when not a single fan, pundit or former official agrees with the red
