Combination of two things.
1.Mbappe wanted to be the star man of PSG and he wasn't because Messi was there
I also think there were factions in the dressing room that showed up on the field.
There was many a time where Messi had run into a great position and certain players seemed to avoid passing to him.
In his first season, he hit the bar or post 14 times but still made a tremendous amount of assists.
It was still a good contribution to the team by most standards.
It was just a bit below par by his own…
2. I think there was a certain amount of resentment from some fans because Messi defeated France and Mbappe in the world cup final.
I think at times that showed and did not make it a great experience for him…
To late now…..he is enjoing his last years before retirament in a beautiful city surrounded by people who love him, he is a multimillionaire, so $ means shit for him at this point!

I never stop saying it, PSG is the most toxic team in Europe. They bully their own players, they think they have a divine prophecy saying that they deserve the Champions more than anyone else…I feel pity for the players that are still there
