What is people's obsession with reece james, i get hes a very good rb but come on trent is utterly world class and james is injured 90% of the time and also makes mistakes that people just seem to ignore?
For goodness sake ! Trent is not a defender. He is the best passer of the ball in the world. He should be the midfield play maker. Maybe Koop doesn’t want to acknowledge it was a mistake to have Trent at fullback.
I think he just needs to work on his ball control I'm the summer and he could be a serious option in the 6 for Liverpool. This is not to say he doesn't have good ball control, it's just the midfield is a different beast especially when you come from a position like right back that has so much space infront of you. Because with film teams will start trying to get tighter to him and man mark him etc. So he has to know this before it happens and develop the traits guys like Rodri, Thiago and these type of players have to absorb the press create space and still find the pass and not just look for the bailout option everytime he gets pressed.
But he's looked really good in that sort of double pivot at the base of the midfield. If I'm in charge of signings at Liverpool I'm still signing 2 or 3 good midfielders but maybe also a decent back up right back for him to be a serious option in midfield
The ad transition 😂
Seering a super reliance on Trent. Lets hope he dont get injured
THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Southgate is tactically inept will never do it
🤔🤔
Come on James we know Southgate isn't going to adapt modern tactics
It’s funny that u think Southgate can change his tactics
I like how you talk about deep waters, and have this Submarine Sonar sound effect in the background music😂
IMO Trent needs to move to midfield to fulfill his true potential. He is very good at interceptions and has various ranges of passing along with vision and long shots. He is capable of emulating the quality of KDB. This will not only give him the opportunity to play his best brand of football but also will make room for Reece James to play his position in England.
the england point does not make any sence, southgate picks walker and trippier anyway, so i does not matter how trent and james play
Unfortunately Southgate isn’t tactically good enough to play this system. Probably wouldn’t have done it anyway though
why would Reece james need a space in an england team? unbelievably overrated, he barely plays
Funny how all the supposed experts out there were saying you can't just put someone in midfield from RB, that's not how it works, you have 0 ball knowledge blah blah blah. If a player has all of the characteristics to play in a particular position then it can work, tactical adaptation is all that's needed, not technical nor physical. It's a shame this was implemented too late after we shouted for it for so long.
Despite the drop off in form and fitness of Reese James and Kyle Walking aging out of City's team, I think playing Tent inverted for England, especially against teams who play a low block and given our quite prosaic midfield (Henderson, Rice and even Bellingham aren't cute passers like Trent), could be a win-win. However, against strong teams I think TAA will remain a liability, in fact, on current form (and as a United fan admitably) I believe Aaron Wan Bissaka has such a unique, high level talent when it comes to his 1 vs 1 defending, I sya unique because I can't think of another modern full back famous for their "inpenetrability" (although that may partly be because his poor attacking reputation). This talent has been highlighted further in the later half of this season, if the opposition has a strong winger AWB will reliably clamp them up for 90 minutes (or 45 mins on the 2-3 occasions this season when a player has been giving United problems and AWB has been bought on at half time to promptly extinguish any hint of danger from that problem player), while he still has very little grace and style when on the ball (or frankly even just running) he has quietly become an important part of this Manchester United team both defending and in possession. Obviously he doesn't give you what Trent does on the ball but neither does Kyle Walker or to a lesser extent James (at least in terms of passing range and creativity) but AWB can do the job of 2 men going backward. Maybe TAA should just play as a deep lying midfielder like Pirlo, or to give a modern example, Christian Erikson this season at united. Erikson is a bit of a liability defensively due to his lack of physicallity and athleticism but when united are building up he is usually taking very deep positions (while Fred, Mctominay and even Casemiro who are less press resistant are playing higher up more like a #8), when I say deep positions I don't just mean the deepest centre mid , he often is positioned as one of the wide players in the back 3 alongside the 2 centre backs). However, when there is actual defending to do he is just a body congesting the centre offering some support to the likes of Casemiro. If you are going to move TAA to centre mid when he has the ball (when he is best), when you lose it why make him jog to another part of the pitch to do a job he is crap at, you'd almost be better letting Fabiniho go do that (joking but only just).
Most of the players have been terrible.. Obvious it's down to the shot because it's knackered then out
defensively i think he’s okay when he’s over the half way line, i’ve seen him win the ball back on the front foot a lot and he’s very good at that, it’s jusr when he’s near his goal and under pressure is when he struggles, which is obviously a big problem but i think defending how jim explained fits his strengths perfectly
If Trent had an assist to match ratio like this since the start of the season, he'd be top of the assist chart and Liverpool would be top 4. Simple.
the way i see it defensively is that Trent was our main creative player on the wing. He was consistently bombing forward and then having to try get back and was exhausted. now hes sitting alot deeper its alot easier for him to slot into that RB position and have the energy to defend his man. So i think this new tactical switch makes us alot more defensively sound too.
The in possession stuff has never been his issue, it's his defending, and defensive awareness. He played as a CM as a youngster. So he can do that. I still think he'll be out of position and won't make it back to the FB area when a better team is attacking. What works vs Leeds won't work vs a good team.
How did you get into football you look like you have no clue about football or never even played the game and you think you can tell us about football just if I were u stop talking about Liverpool you haven't a clue mate cause every Liverpool supporter has known trent was a midfielder since he was young so talk about someone else from other clubs
Trent has 74 assists for Liverpool comparing him to right backs is a bit unfair
Only took Klopp 2 years to realize that TAA isn't a RB.
Trent Iniesta Arnold or Trent Alexander De Bruyne?
Tbh James can play#9 if you play him there or a number 10 died centre
Nobody has ever denied Trent's calibre to create unbelievable chances or produce stunning through balls, the question was always in his defensive techniques. New role of Trent might create more chances for LFC, but right side of the defence will remain vulnerable. It's too much to ask from Trent to play in the midfield and go back defending when needed.
TAA in MF should mean we buy one less MC and can then afford Jude🤞🏽 bring back Nico Williams from Forest
we're just normal men…
For England I’d play Trent in a double pivot with Rice, then Bellingham more advanced, and James RB.
VPN does not mean your data/information is safe. Only if they don't sell it; which most of them probably do. So do not use VPN for privacy reasons, unless you somehow know they don't sell your data.
Seriously, whom was a better RB than TAA in the the years between 2017-2020
Southgate dont care plus he's going to play his fav players
Looks like Klopp's coaching tactics is just to attend Pep's free online coaching lessons with his pencil to copy stuff… Man was lost this season and had to phone Pep and beg for his approval… Shameless bin dippers measure this common manager to Pep the 🐐.
