It was an opening day defeat at The Emirates, although a late rally from the Reds gave the home team a bit of a scare, when an electric break from Awoniyi and Elanga led to the big number 9 netting his first goal of the season.

Martinelli definitely didn’t mean to backheel the ball.
MGW had a poor game. The second goal is on him. Very much a poor man's maradonna. I still think he can be great and he has to keep that ego. But he should have kicked that ball into the Trent. We were playing low block so frustrate them and keep it simple.
