The Raya & Sanchez transfers make zero sense to me.
People forget that Arteta was in for Raya way before signing Ramsdale.

I really don't understand what is so hard to understand about this transfer. Turner wants to be a no1, he obviously can't get that at Arsenal. He will leave and be a no1 somewhere else. Now Arsenal needs a good backup. Who else but an established premier league keeper that had higher aims than Brentford and is enticed by champions league football and a challenge for the premiership.
Raya was better than Ramsdale in every way possible last year and he was in an inferior team.

In a funny sort of way, I like that Arteta seem ruthlessly cold blooded about his players. If you are not up to standard, you will be replaced. It's not that you are bad, but you need to be of the top top standard to be a winner. I used to tear my hair out sometime at how Wenger used to be too loyal to his players. Some like Ozil etc needed to be go, but he kept sticking with him, season in season out. So, I say go for Raya.
