    The Athletic’s David Ornstein and The Guardian’s Jonathan Liew were guests on ‘Back Pages Tonight’ where they disccused the impending deal that will see Mason Mount join Manchester United.

    The Red Devils have agreed a deal with Chelsea to buy Mount for £60m.

    Sky Sports News understands the deal includes a potential £5m of add-ons strongly dependent on appearances and success. United have offered the England international a five-year contract with an extra year option.

      No one will remember the price if he does well. Eth already proved he can get to two finals with and top 3 with mcfred in midfield and no strikers. He will continue to overachieve even if he doesn’t get his top targets in the market

      Mount is not Hazard level. Not Frank Lampard level. So I don't see chelsea getting a bad deal. That's £70M profit on him.

      I think Mount is a good player who can improve under ETH. I don’t think he’ll become world class but he is a solid player who will add squad depth and quality to the first 11. I think 55 million is too much for him and he should’ve cost 45 plus add ons at most. However, selling to a rival and considering he’s English, 55 million seems fair in the current market.

      What football did Mount exhibitbat chelsea last season – men like MOUNT are the reason chelsea has been 12th in the league – showed no heart at all !! I say let him go, I'm secure he'll GRASS at manunited !!

      Mount is young and a hard worker, but has no football artistry like say Fabregas, hhebis not a star lineman, and chelsea are gunning for trophies, but also top class football – as an innovator he us average, but perhaps Ten Hag might create a BEAST out of him – she also loses the ball all the time and as a chelsea fan I'm glad he is gone anmnd gave us 60million along the way !!

      Mount was not going to be a regular at chelsea, club was recruiting cars sharper creative footballers – Mount saw this, and could not envision himself becoming a squad player – he decided to run to United where he can stil be a 1st team show –

      I remember Mount had problems beating Pulisic out. Who is now at Milan btw. Dont see him improving the Reds. Decent for squad depth but who does he beat out? Not Bruno or Antony, maybe Fred or McTominay. They'll have a lot more games next season. Maybe ETH improves him. Doubt it though.

      Mount is a great player. I understand why he wanted to leave but we didn’t try very hard to keep him. But why oh why have we sold him to a rival club. Should have let tt have him at Bayern

      Mount had most goals and assists combined for Chelsea in the last 4 years, including 2 POTYs. They've lost their best player. So it's a clear L for Chelsea. £60m is a lot, but not really £100m or £105m for 2 overrated players.

      As a Chelsea fan Mount is a good player but not great. He wanted wages beyond his performances and tbh I would prefer to cash in than give him wages he didn't deserve. I was more upset Havertz has left as he had way more potential but we just don't play a system that suits either of them.

      Another thing about Mount. He is good at everything but not exceptional in any area.

      I cannot be a fan of Chelsea anymore. How can I support Boehley and Egbali destroying the club for profits. Deals with Saudis, selling important players, buying wrong players.
      Buying other clubs, bad ethics, firing staff. Shambles.
