@senorgabo did i just here an echo? anyways..like they say to each his own. and to make it clear im not a hater. im filipino. filipinos are the most loving creatures in the world until aliens froms so called other lands started pillaging other people's lands for the so called sake of development and all that crap. Hating is such a strong word. I'd probably term it as more of an opinion.
1. If he comes here, he be backup for neil etheridge (how is that appealing?)
2. unlike most of our international players he actually plays for a top team and he's on the fast track to being number 1 in france.
3. It's not hard choosing, he's being courted by the philippines to play for the national team.
At the same time being courted by manchester united etc. Why in the hell would he consider us who are just getting our feet wet?

Areola is backup for a great team. Areola is being asked to play for teams like manchester.
That alone tells you his worth.
The only way this guy will play for the azkals is if the team he eventually signs with doesn't cap him all the way,
We lost David Abala(another talented international half pinoy) because Austria max capped him.

Im not swimming in negativity. Im being realistic. If you want a good and reliable backup keeper (cause sacapano sucks so bad) Gabe Honosutomo (indonesian-fil) has expressed that he wants to play for our time after watching the indonesia-phil match up last year. He's still young, not as talented as areola, or as good etheridge. But he's solid. Plus, he honestly does wanna play for us. Unlike this guy here, no interest whatsoever.

If that was the case then it'd be great. One less problem to worry about. Hopefully his club team allows him to play here. If his current club won't allow him to play in fear of gaining any unnecessary injuries then it would be a problem. Most important players are usually sensitively handled than the 2nd and 3d stringers. Areola is a 2nd string keeper, but their current keeper is close to retiring. Which is why they will probably keep areola on a short lease.

No chance for him playing here. His contract with PSG likely to be extended til 2015. Even then, he's en route to either manchester united or totenham. PSG's keeper is injured and areola is gonna make his debut. He has no option to play for the PH. Even if he did have one, i don't think he'd sacrifice all his hardwork in france for it.

Hindi lang sya french citizen sa papers, french din sya sa puso kasi dito sya lumaki. Nakakaintindi sya ng tagalog at nakakapag communicate din. My reason sya kung bakit hindi muna sya makakapag laro sa azkals yun ung dahilan na masyado pa syang bata at gusto nya pang i imprve ung skills sya. And beside desisyon nya un noh. Importan

It doesn't matter whether he will choose to play for the Philippines or not BUT this is already a testament that FILIPINOS has a greater chance to make it big in international football. This kid, Etheridge, Shrock, Alaba and the De Guzman Bros can attest to that.

he may not play for azkals but I wish good luck in his career in PSG. I'm still proud of him even if will or wont play for PHIL. 😛

I hope this guy plays for the Philippines, may his parents, who are Filipinos encourage him.
