      It was really weird. He completely disregarded Saliba season last year, downplayed how good it was and saying Arsenal welcomed him like he was a great defender and that he didn't play like he is now for years.

      Years implies he's some experience player or in his mid 20's.
      He's just turned 21.
      He also barely played during 2/3 years on loan while at Arsenal, first year was a loan back to Saint Etienne, he barely played due to multiple muscle injuries, even then that season he still was the MOTM in the French cup semi final & it was his ball that led to 92 min winner to send a big club Saint Etienne to the final, the clubs first in 30+ years.
      Arsenal due to money & Covid extended loan situation didn't allow Saliba to play the final v PSG, which would have cost Arsenal 2 million, due to clause.
      PSG ended up winning 1-0 and Saliba replacement in the final club captain & legend Perrin played the final, injured Mbappe & got red card early.

      Saliba his 2nd year, first half was wasted after not being registered along with Sokratis & others due to the limit & club wanted him to go on loan, he was at the club but couldn't play first team till January.
      Then in January he had a good loan at Nice for 6 months.

      His 3rd season was Marseille, he made sure this time his situation sorted early.

      It was his first full season and first uninterrupted season during his 3 years signed but not playing for Arsenal.

      Saliba last season was arguably the best CB in Ligue 1 last season at age 20, he was the leader in defense for Marseille who finished 2nd in Ligue 1, he played in a possesion based side at a big french club, playing with a high line.
      He helped Marseille keep 18 cleansheets last season.

      He made Ligue 1 team of the season and won Ligue 1 Young player of the year.

      This season he's been the best CB in PL at age 21. Arsenal conceded the least amount of goals, most cleansheets, top of the PL.

      Saying a 20 year old never played like that in years is just a PSG fan trying to be different for the sake of it or he didn't really follow him too closely.

      PSG fans hate Marseille.

      He's probably still annoyed when Saliba last season caught up to & made a world class last ditch tackle late game on Mbappe that got Marseille a draw in that 0-0 game in Le Classique game (big rivalry game in France).

      Saying this Saliba this season is different and he hasn't played like this in years.

      That's weird.

      PSG fans after all there recent success & getting lucky with there owners still hate anything to do with Marseille.

      Saliba is massively overrated. Makes a lot of mistakes that go unpunished. He’s got an own goal in him too. Laughable how much praise he gets when he hasn’t achieved anything.
