Idrissa Gana Gueye has rejoined Everton from Paris Saint-Germain for an undisclosed fee, the midfielder signing a two-year contract until the end of June 2024.

The Senegal international returns to Merseyside after spending three years with the Blues from 2016 to 2019, making 108 appearances and forging a reputation as one of the Premier League’s best defensive midfielders.

Gana left Goodison Park for Paris Saint-Germain in July 2019 and, during his three years in the French capital, won two league titles, four domestic cups and finished runner-up to Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final.

The all-action and combative midfielder becomes Everton’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of defenders James Tarkowski, RΓΊben Vinagre and Conor Coady, midfielder Amadou Onana and forwards Dwight McNeil and Neal Maupay.

  3. Great to see Gana back. Looking forward to seeing Garner too and hoping NEVER to see Tom Davies again. Welcome home Idrissa.

  4. We signed him cheap from villa.. sold him for 30million.. he left, earned a lot of experience, UCL football, maturity and accolades.. he has come back for just 5 million.. aged but surely has at least 3 of years of elite level football in him.. he'll be a great mentor for garnar and onana as well.. hope it all works out..

  5. A really clever signing; quality on the ball, really good footballing brain and non-stop for 90 minutes. Plus he can mentor Onana and others around him. It's no coincidence that we were much better when he played.
