He just need a rest. He play a lot of games.
VVD is Done and finished. He has lost the hunger and Liverpool need to look for a new Young left footed CB to partner Konate
He was one of the best ever in his position and now he’s not anymore, it’s pretty simple. He can’t do it at that level anymore because he’s physically incapable

Because he bought into the hype of him being an all time great and then realised he was not far above average,
it happens to the ones with a weak mentality when they peak and have a couple of good seasons.
If Klopp can ever be ruthless with his squad now is the time to replace Virgil Van-Hype
whilst there is still a small chance of getting any sort of fee.
He himself has said, he played too much 2 seasons ago and his body simply broke down.

Maybe we need to admit that Virgil Van Dijk is past his prime. There have been top defenders like Sergio Ramos Thiago Silva John Terry Rio Ferdinand Paolo Maldini etc who have aged well and got better in their 30s. He had a bad season and yes he isn’t getting any younger and what if he can regain that level and hope that it wasn’t just a blip the season Virgil Van Dijk had last time around when he was far from his best next season he needs to show that he’s not finished.
He plays every game every week. He needs a good rest that’s all.

Many of the games Liverpool lost early in last season were mostly on Trent.🤏 But no one should truly blame him when he was forced to play as RB. 😡
Liverpools biggest problem is sorting out Trent he cannot be left in the fullback role, he cannot be trusted and is a massive liability
The World Cup in December has a lot to do with it also, Virgil's first maybe only World Cup. Can understand not wanting to get injured and missing the tournament as a Captain. Last season the consistency of performance wasn't there from the entire squad. After the World Cup players like Allison, VVD, Salah helped the boys to achieve a Europa League spot. Expecting big things this season, new stand, new players, Klopps evolution of the team.
