  1. The last time Spain & England met, both Lopetegui & Southgate started their new journey with the teams. Spain then had a disastrous World Cup, while England a relatively successful one. Now Luis Enrique has to start from scratch for Spain, while Gareth is in the development phase. Luis Enrique's current concern is probably only on how to win games, but Gareth Southgate already talks about continuity of England generations for the next few years. And Spain is considered one of the biggest in football !!! So regardless of the coming outcome, England should take the moment to be proud.

  2. Gormless Gareth Southgate glorified pub standard manager and players so so lucky to get to the semi finals wity the most easy games ever 7 of the 11 goals dead balls as soon as played half decent team found out

  3. An indication of England's progress is the penalty win over Colombia. Winning that penalty shoot-out spoke volumes about the team and what they can achieve over the years to come. In the past I was extremely reluctant to watch any England game but Russia 2018 has renewed my positive feelings about their potential and the reality of what they can achieve in years to come. A World Cup? Who knows, is all I can say. I do, however, wish them the best!

  4. England need more Pep Guardiola players to succeed.
Mourinho only knows defending,Klopp only knows pressing.
English believe they cant play Football, their only chance of winning is Kicking Legs,Throwing Elbows. Thus few Football Players for Pep to pick from, most of them way overpriced.

  5. Southgate each and every interview refers to a certain style . I dont get it …Which style of football does england play . They dont have any midfield player to play through midfield so they end up playing from the back and hoofing it in the channel for runners to get the ball and heavily rely on the physic of Kane.
He is jst selling a fake dream and he was lucky by having easy world cup run.

  6. I can undertand the optimism considering how poor England has been over the years. HOWEVER! This squad in terms of quality is not even close being up there with the best. I would not call the WC an indicator of much considering which team England managed to beat. If they can have a good run in the Euros I might change my position though. I doubt the Euros will be a success though

  7. I am surprised Lallana even made it in to the England squad. What has he actually done for Liverpool, or England, over the past 2-3 years? Even if that is due to injury, he still hasn't contributed anything. So what warrants his selection. There are better, younger players like Ross Barkley that should be in this England squad. Yet Barkley isn't, even after the Lallana and Sterling injuries. Why call up a 4th goalkeeper? That's a BS decision.

  8. You’re telling premier league clubs to give young guys game if you know their good enough how abt you call them up or pick the players that’s better technically but because they play for a smaller club they don’t get a look

  9. England are overhyped. Southgate has the promise of youth, but not quite sufficient talent to play the manager's preferred systems. The high from the favourable-draw-driven run in Russia will fade fairly fast. Cannot beat any of the bigger footballing nations.

  10. What he is saying about Croatian football, that clubs need to play young players and sell them off later, so players are used to play under pressure from a young age on, is more or less the same for most Belgium clubs. They can maybe afford a little more foreign players, but mostly young ones that are taking their first steps in professional football.

  11. Gareth Southgate is doing a great job .
I like they way hes trying to develop a system and style and getting players that fit the system.
Unfortunately not enough players are playing in the premier league

  12. never expect England to reach semi final . Usually they are shite on the group stage/knockout round & always return home early . Out of all 'top manager' for England , not really expecting Southgate to bring them far . I hope England can win something in the future , Euro 20 or maybe WC22 . Goodluck

  13. Such a difference when you hear him talk, for him it's not about the money, not about going from game to game. He's built a style of play and group of players who love playing for England. All seems so simple when you genuinely care and know what you're doing.
