Harry Kane has had a rather interesting summer. With so many teams in need of a world-class striker – no club seems to be matching the fee Tottenham seek for the England captain.

Despite one year left on his contract and both Manchester United and Bayern Munich expressing interest, Kane doesn’t look set to leave North London in the summer.

Is that a smart idea for the club not to cash in on the 2nd highest Premier League goalscorer in history? Jon Mackenzie is here to make the case that now is the time for Harry Kane to leave N17.

  2. If Richy will not injured Spurs should sell Kane and should buy a really fast striker who is Richarlison's back up. Because Richy is good enough. He just didn't find chances last season. I should say that Richy is weak or his balance is the problem. He falls down a lot. Whatever He should play If Spurs want return on investment. With rest of the cash(Kane's Money) plus if Hojbjerg will be sold to Atletico M. Spurs should buy a player is better than Bentancur who can play CM/CAM like Çalhanoğlu, Milinkovic-Savic, De Paul, Pellegrini or Luis Alberto.

  3. 70million pounds are really THAT much money to a Big SIx team? If you wanna starting winning trophies, you can’t sell your best player. Keep him in the club and, during the season, try to convince him to renew. When it comes to tactics, Kane is a really smart player, he’ll adapt to the new tactics in the first half of the season, no doubt. Don’t forget he scored 30 (!!) goals for Spurs in the last PL. This is so much more impressive than Haaland’s 36.

  4. This answers the exact two questions I had, thanks John.

I really feel like Spurs not wanting to sell and Man Utd's no longer interested stances are just negotiating posturing.

First one to make a call is out £20m 😂

  5. Kane should leave, its a win win situation now. He will win trophies, spurs get the money to rebuild. Only a few areas left to be fixed as number 9 they already has Richarlison

  6. Can we see a video of why Harry Kane is good, as a person who always hates that his positioning in possession is all over the place I’d love to see this.

  7. What the financial analysis overlooks is that Spurs aren’t in the CL next year, and the PL record doesn’t show that they are more likely to get Top 4 with Kane.

So whilst he might be worth 30-40M to a CL team, if we assume Kane stays and they get top 4, he still won’t be around to help out in the following CL season.

Focusing on CL revenue is much less useful for Kane’s single season worth this year; instead PL prize money is the metric to measure Kane’s worth by for a Last Dance

  8. To let Harry Kane leave on a free would be an incredibly Spursy move. Levy not wanting to sell to a Premier League rival is understandable, but if Kane's going to be leaving anyway why not get the £90m for him? Even if they do sell to Man Utd, it's £90m out of their pocket and into Spurs'.

  9. Dude looks like a caricature of a stats guy then starts talking about “if you get really lucky and get to the final”

    Wtf you drinking?

  10. It’s kinda crazy how spurs saw how Poch was getting them crazy good finishes and even a Ucl runners up run, and decided that a new stadium instead of investing in him was a good idea. —literally imagine if Klopp after doing badly for 2 seasons was just given up on. I 100% believe Liverpool would’ve regressed had they eventually sacked him. Instead of winning a Ucl and a title.

  11. Do the spurs end up playing in Europe period without Kane? Genuine question considering I don’t see richarlison holding the torch anytime soon. Son maybe, but idk if you can replace 30 goals

  12. I'm sure Kane can adapt to pinning the centre-backs. Our build-up has been awful for so long, I don't blame him for trying to help them along again. That can change if Bissouma can press-break and Bentancur return to fitness.
