This is the same guy who threatened to choke a female co-host live on air. CBS no longer wanted him and now he's working for the USSF in helping pick a leader and head coach. Ridiculous.
They interviewed the top coaches in club and national teams and they best we could come up with is Berhalter?? USSF need to be blown up and rebuilt with the goal of winning something meaningful, not hiring their buddies

Why confidential? Hmm. Again no transparency on the hiring process for the job just like the first time Berhalter was hired. I wonder why. Perhaps there were no other candidates contacted? What was the point of hiring an outside source to assist in finding a coach? What a sham.

What I heard was that he has the job but he is undergoing extensive training to avoid be out coached again. They want to teach him in game management that is not just looking puzzled on the sideline.
Honestly I’m just going to start rooting for another national team … this is embarrassing- and with us having the WC in ‘26 is just making me angry …ussf is just a club run by the ‘popular kids’ who have no real prowess or ambition – this decision perfectly exemplifies why we will never compete for the WC during my life time … so frustrating
No high tier coach would play puppet for the MLS in a national team. That's the true reason why they wouldn't appoint anyone outside the MLS franchise system. 🤷
