Gundogan scored 10 goals in over 100 apps for Dortmund. In over 100 apps for Man City, he scored 60 goals. Don't write Kova off just yet before he has kicked a ball under Pep. It's in the 2nd season you can judge him, as players usually take a year to adapt to Pep systems. Ps Kova isn't a Gundo replacement btw.

We will definitely miss him and the attacking threat, kovacic is a great player and will help control the midfield but he is not a direct replacement for gundogan i feel foden will take that role more now

Pep doesn’t make like for like replacements. He buys players to each be an enabler for others. He will see Kovacic as a way to open doors for other forms of attack.

I’m Chelsea, I watched Kova week in, week out. Best midfielder we had, got a bit of stick from certain fans for not scoring enough but he’s not a goal scoring midfielder. He’s a ball winner, he’d beat a couple of players then ping a pass forward. Unsung hero for me and will improve even more under Pep. Different player to Gundogan who as a Chelsea fan I admired a lot…

kovacic is class, he was class in a chelsea shirt with no direction, imagine how good he can be under pep surrounded by class! think he could be signing of the summer.
He's is clueless. Kovacic is an elite player, technically top and totally press resistant … He is a better player than Gundagan overall… Some of the goal threats in direct goals is not as high but that can improve – but Kovacic is a better technical player at keeping the ball, a far better dribbler – he can take it past 3 4 players which opens up space for the forwards, far quicker and just far better all round …
Your mistake is thinking he is the "replacement" for Gundogan cause he is not, Foden will probably replace Gundogan
As a City fan I’ll take Kovacic over Rice any day he’s a better player and has proven it on every level.
