So Dubas is hell bent on making Pittsburgh a cap hell team. 🤷🤷
With Matthews, Tavares and Domi at C, why would the Leafs want Lindholm? It’s true that Tavares can play the wing but he’s better at C.
Pens are getting old. Karlson would have a better chance if winning a cup in Carolina.
I like pens and think Karlson will keep them strapped for years to come.
If the Pens make this trade it won't be for Pettersson. Either Ty Smith and/or POJ plus picks and prospects. The left side on the top 2 pairings are set it's just a matter of who Pettersson and Graves play with… I hope it's not Petry

Karrlson wanted to be the highest paid D back when he signed. When u got guys like that, u don’t win. Sharks fell out of playoffs when he came.
Dylan Demelo told my mates and I when he was in San Jose that Burns and Karlsson were at each others throats in the room, lots of verbal arguments, got physical occasionally.
Nylander and Robertson and pick 1st rd for lindholm, hanifin and zadorov. Leafs then unload Brodie Murray. Sign Sammy
The pens will be bad for years
The canadiens are in trouble they have too many forwards and younger guys won’t get any NHL ice time there going to have to trade guys like Hoffman for picks
Pens traded for Petry and Phoeling (already out) only last year for Mike Matheson to the habs (cheaper and younger). Absolute steal for Montreal.
Calgary can not retool without a massive trade for Nylander. Nylander, Robertson and Liljegren would be 3 players Calgary can go after while trading most likely Hanifin and Lindholm. Lindholm or Hanifin and Nylander would have to agree to a sign and trade to guarantee each team gets a player long term.
Could Chicago or Anaheim use forwards from Montreal?
would a three way deal between Calgary, Seattle and Montreal help all three teams? Calgary send Lindholm and Backlund to Seattle; Seattle send cap space to Montreal; Montreal send a few forwards to Calgary?
KARLSSON TO THE PENGUINS. JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
I think Pittsburgh should avoid Karlsson at all costs. He's way too expensive and he'd be added to an older team with Letang and Crosby (both 36), Malkin (37) Carter (38), Ruhwedel (33) and Eller(34). I'm not counting Petry(36) who would most likely be moved in a trade.
At some point you have to add some younger players, Joseph maybe the only top serviceable young d-man under 25. At worst I'd run with what you have and try and trade out some of the older vets for d-picks or young prospects. The Penguins are going to be in a world of hurt in another year or so. Over paid older team with no young players in the pipeline trying to win one more cup which realistically, they probably can't.
