Julio Cesar Chavez is a living legend. Chavez used his interpretation of the Mexican style of boxing to win titles in multiple weight divisions, successfully defending his title over two dozen times and beginning his professional career with a 89 fight winning streak. He retired having fought 115 times, winning 107 of them, 86 of which came by knockout. Chavez achieved this using a highly aggressive pressure style, made possible in part by his skilful use of head movement. It’s equally fair to call him one of the most aggressive and one of the most defensive boxers of all time. So let’s take a look at what made Julio Cesar Chavez the pride of Mexico.

  1. Indeed this man introduced Mexican-brand of boxing in the map. Sure there were Latino champions before him, but when people thought boxing styles, they thought of usually of African American styles. The explosiveness of Tyson, or the float like a butterfly sting like a bee approach of Ali. Mexican style is just pure Cojones, Machismo, all out excitement, and most of all never ever backing down. Mexican style is about willingness to trade

  2. It’s good to see ppl appreciate this master at work. We live in a time where ppl troll for fun, or minimize the skills of some fighters constantly throwing shade with negativity. Many of us who got to watch these fights knew it was special but only time and many yrs of training has shown me truly the depth of his skills and greatness. Con mucho respeto🙏🏽👊🏽

  3. As someone who’s learned/Training in Boxing and plan on making the Amateurs very soon (not considered pro since I’m 30). One thing I learned is regardless of how much you like or dislike someone in Boxing, you should never be biased and learn from this one and that one while you can.

  4. I disagree Big Time. Chavez was one demential. If that didn't work. He had a hard time fighting against fighters that box counter Punch and connect.

  5. THE KING,OF MEXICAN STYLE BOXING! THE LEGEND.THE GOAT 89-0-77.14 years unbeaten, EL GRAN CAMPEON MEXICONO Y MUNDIAL. JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ! What a legend! His record of consecutive wins will never be broken! famous rapper Mr Shadow Till I Die, song says,To be the pain inflicted, 380 chrome in your mouth get the picture
I hitcha like Chavez, the job is well. 25 years in the ring final record 107-5-86 knockouts. THE BEST IN THE WORD OF BOXING!

  6. Best to ever do it, 37 (#1) title bouts, 27 (#1) defenses with 23 ( t-joe louis #1) kos , crowned p4p 3 consecutive years (#1) , defeated 19 world champions in the 3 belt era. All #1 records

  7. Chavez is like an octopus, who have brains in their limbs that process and operate independently, but also completely coordinated with the rest of the body.

  8. JCC. 1. He had a powerful Jab. 2. A powerful straight punch with the right hand. 3. A terrifying hook 4. The upper cut was deadly 5. Undecipherable location 6. Accuracy, did not miss hits 7. Head movement 8. Movement of the waist 9. He knew how to move to put a fence on his opponents and they would not get out of the punishment he gave them, and instead when his opponents dared to corner him, he would come out with movements that seemed easy, but due to his technique he made them seem simple. 10. He fought up to 14 times a year (see the data) 11. He attacked and defended with gloves, arms, and head and waist movements. 12. He studied you in seconds, he was extremely intelligent in combat 13. The jaw he had was made of titanium, he came out unharmed from his fights, due to his technique of attacking you without giving you respite. 14. He had changed his guard when required, he boxed left-handed. Please if anyone gets a chance rewatch the fight with Pernel Whitaker the 8th round is masterful put it in slow motion as he takes the punches off and apparently takes punches in the fight that didn't hurt him instead watch what Pernel takes Please watch the fight in slow motion on video and you will realize the details and you will see that JCC, with everything and that Pernel was a good boxer, JCC won that fight. 15. JCC began to lose not because he had an inflated record, everyone who has entered the ring with a professional knows that it is already a victory to be a professional and it detracts from boxers when they say that nonsense. 16. This guy fought with everyone and got tired after 14 years of Reynar in boxing, fighting with the best ranked and from different countries, logically his fame, the years as a professional, vices, parties ended him and his imminent decline came 17. As an American boxer said, if JCC had been born in the USA, he would be considered the best boxer in history, not because of his weight, statistics or championships or toughness, speed, resistance or attack, but because of all his virtues, the man Arrived to this world to be naturally the best boxer in history to whom that throne has not been recognized, he had it all. Many place it in the top 5, maybe it is number 1.
