This is a Japan behind the counter food tour of a local Japanese bento shop. For more than 40 years, Bento Kawano has been making delicious Japanese handmade bento lunches at the affordable price of 600yen. At this value and quality itโ€™s no surprise everyday that the customer lunch lines wrap around the entire block. One important things about this Japanese bento shop is that they must be extra careful about food safety. Since Bentos are designed to be able to sit on the shelf for several hours without refrigeration, the food must always be fully cooked. Run by Japanese food craftsman, Inoue san, he changes the menu everyday so his customers have something to look forward to. He particularly enjoys analyzing the performance of his previous bentos and creating new ones to see how popular it will be, but ultimately he says that whatever bento he serves, he creates each one as if heโ€™ll be sharing it with his loved ones. Interestingly, this Tokyo bento shop runs 4 rice cookers simultaneously throughout the entire day to keep up with the demand using a special hitomebore rice from Miyagi prefecture known for its exquisite taste especially when its cooled down. Even the rice at the shop was specifically selected by Inoue san. I hope you enjoy this Tokyo Hidden gem bento shop.

  1. not like China, here is no cheating, pure quality, and honest
comparing these tow country is like comparing filet mignon and rat meat.

  2. You just can't help but get inspired by the working attitude of the Japanese. It's truly inspiring.. and slightly frightening. On another note, I often notice how much single use plastic is used in Japanese daily life, how is recycling over there? Surely packaging could be made from something more sustainable. I mean, the same stuff I used over here for takeaway, but there has been a move towards cardboard since the lockdown.

  3. There's something magical about your food. I appreciate your efforts; I was wondering if you could share a video of you cooking with KHAL viewers

  4. wow, Kobayashi-san's nails were so pretty and clean! you know you have a great worker when her nails and hands are so well kept and perfectly clean for work. there are a lot of good things about Japanese standards.

  5. Making a simple calculation โ€ฆ. Letโ€™s suppose he sells about 500 obento every day times 600 yen = 300.000 yen per day witch equals to 2K dollars per day ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.

  6. Rising the prices by 25ยข would be enough to hire someone to help him during the early morning. For something so well made and for such demand it wouldn't affect the business to much if not at all. And he'll have a better quality of time.

  7. I fully appreciate that Paolo features local shop owners, promoting their products and giving them an opportunity to share their life experiences. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I wish someday to find this kind of passion for my work.
Also hope to have the opportunity to eat one of those bento, it looks so yummy!

  9. 800 bentos per day at 600 yen

    800 ร— 600 = 480000.

Approximately 5 lakh yeh per day.

Shop open 20 days in a month then 1 crore yen per month.

    12 cr yen per annum.

Whats his profit margin 40% or less.. My man earning at least 2 to 3 Cr. Per annum.

  10. He got quite a story and such a hard worker! He said he works until 5pm, so he must take a break from then till like midnight. Maybe he spends times with his family and rest up before working again late at night to prep for the next day. He still have time to be with hia family.
