Aaron Long’s career path is the self-described “road less traveled.” Playing in the lower leagues, he worked construction in the offseason with a goal of extending his career as long as he could. Finally breaking through, having success and hitting the heights of the National Team, Long has never lost that feeling or desire to keep proving himself. He’ll get the chance on the biggest stage when the USMNT heads to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. 26Stories presented by Volkswagen.

  1. Hi my name is Aaron Long and I am bad at soccer. My career path is I was bad in the MLS and our goofy manager plays favorites so I got an undeserving spot on the roster.

  2. Will never forget how Gregg gave him special treatment and brought him in during camps while still rehabbing his injury. I knew then he will make it to the World Cup at all cost
