Is Jesús Ferreira getting too much hate?
🇺🇸🗽🦅UNITED STATES finally have dominated North America and are on a fast track to attack some teams in Europe and South America and that’s when the goal keeper has to be on a high level. It’s not a fluke I stopped routing for the 🇺🇸 after 2010 World Cup because I couldn’t figure out why Altidore, Anyewu, Hercules Gomez, Michael Bradley and a few others were even on the team. They’ve always had a solid back line.
He has become the new punching bag and it’s a shame. Instead of celebrating him being successful and doing something NO ONE ELSE has done in US soccer history, people are mad and upset. It’s sad, honestly. Now, we also do have to keep things in perspective and who the opponents are. Is he the first option now? No. If I had to rank them I’d put Balogun at 1 then a very huge gap with Pepi at 2 and Ferreira as a very close 3.
As soon as he goes to Europe everyone is gonna be on the bandwagon I like him as a player both in the MLS and USMNT!
Berhalter is the punching bag – and with good reason. Ferreira hasn't shown up against anybody good yet so we're pumping the brakes. Everyone would love to see him become a world class striker, we certainly need one. But these last two hat tricks prove nothing.
What Jesús Ferreira is doing is exciting! I think that fans should enjoy it while it lasts. In addition, he is building confidence in himself on the world stage, even if it is against lesser opponents, which it may translate to greater things. Time will tell.
If Jesus goes back to playing bad under Berhalter, will people blame Jesus or Gregg?
The nickname literally proves that he is. This isn't a nickname that was given out of love or respect for the player. It was given in contempt to mock him for his accomplishments. Imagine a fanbase that shames a player who puts on our crest and honorably represents us by putting in a good shift. Disgusting behavior. As an athlete you can only play the opponent that you are presented with.
I just hope Jesus Ferreira makes a move to Europe like a top Portuguese team or maybe a Belgian team a step up for him to prove himself in European football
The United States is 100% in the beginning of their golden era. That gets overused but it’s the truth. The depth they have added in the last 8 years is wild. The club play in Europe is helping a lot. Fighting for your spot every day and training with top young players. They have so much potential right now. Hopefully berhalter is the guy to handle it.
What's surprising is these tiny island nations are fifa ranked higher than Monaco and Lichtenstein and Gibraltar, tiny European countries.
