  1. This is why oil money killed the game. It's not only a case of clubs bullying with their money for their own gain, they use it to inflate the prices for other clubs and gain more leverage this way too. City had absolutely no desire to sign Rice.

  2. For me if it doesn’t get done at this point (£105m) I think we (Arsenal) should walk away.. I’m proud of my club but I don’t believe we should overpay.

  3. Masterstroke from Edu, he knew WH wanted a bidding war. he low balled the first two offers . man city matched it then he went for the kill. … if he started higher. this would've escalated to 120/30Mill

  4. What a statement signing this would be for us, from penny pinching in the transfer market for years to now spending £100 milluon on a player 👏🏽

  5. £105M for Rice is embarrassing, he's £80M tops. Keep in mind Madrid signed Bellingham for £88M and he's better than Rice.

City don't even want Rice, they're just making sure Arsenal can't get him unless they let themselves get ripped off, and by the looks of it Arsenal are taking the bait.

  6. Rice may not be worth 100m in isolation – but the feeling is that he is the final piece of Arteta’s puzzle for this squad – so went in a bit extra for him. I doubt that we’ll be doing a repeat in the next few years – this is a one off

  7. In reality Powerhouse clubs don't pay over the odds for what they really believe a player is worth..but still win their leagues or major trophies. I'm a arsenal fan but I respect how city work in the window. But arsenal are a club who have to pay slightly over the odds until we reach cities level

  8. I told everyone who listened that City will pull out, contrary to popular belief, Man City don't just pay whatever for players and they don't get whoever they want, they've walked away from countless deals in the past; Maguire, Fred, Jorginho, Van Djike, Koulibali, Kane etc… Goodluck to Rice at Arsenal, they really do need him, and even as a Man City fan I was rooting for Arsenal to get him

  9. Arsenal can now go toe to toe with Manchester City in bidding for players? Arsenal can now floor City in chase of Players? Revolution at Arsenal.

  10. Incredible business from City here, inflating the price then pulling out🤣🤣 enjoy your £105m Jordan Henderson lads and we'll continue to enjoy watching Rodri the best DM in the world

  11. Sky News will always try to smuggle Manchester United in the debate. I repeat this has always been between Arsenal and Manchester City.

  12. West Ham are getting an absolute bargain here honestly. He is NOT worth that much money. West Ham can buy 2-3 very good players with that type of money

  13. Arsenal are doing it again. What will £105m for declan rice do to make them better than Brighton in midfield.
