Nico Elvedi | Swiss Defender Skills

Niko Elvedi (German Nico Elvedi, born September 30, 1996, Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss footballer, defender of the Borussia Mönchengladbach club and the Swiss national team.

A graduate of the Greifensee and Zurich football clubs. He started playing football at Greifensee in 2005. A year later he moved to the youth system “Zurich”, where he studied from 2006 to 2013. In the 2012/13 season, Elvedi began playing for the Zurich II farm club, for which he played a total of 24 games in the Promotional First League. Elvedi made his debut for the senior squad of Zurich on May 15, 2014 in the match against Lausanne. Elvedi scored his first professional goal on November 9, 2014 in the match against Aarau. In total, Elvedi played 18 matches for Zurich in the Swiss Super League.

In the summer of 2015, Elvedi signed a four-year contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach. He made his debut in the Bundesliga on November 7, 2015 in the match against Ingolstadt 04, where he replaced Raffael in the 88th minute of the match. On November 25, Elvedi made his Champions League debut against Spanish Sevilla.
