Sonny Bill Williams will be remembered as one of the most creative and destructive midfielders to ever play for the All Blacks. He had amazing hands and an eye for the gap. Unfortunately he had to battle with Ma’a Nonu for the All Blacks’ no. 12 jersey. If it wasn’t for Nonu’s brilliance, Williams would have dominated the position.

Enjoy and thanks for watching!

  1. If its a while before you see a player who consistently does set plays as strong as him youll know sbw was in fact a decent player. But to me anyway he was a really good player to watch and the best at set plays in rugby in his generation

  2. Great vid of the Great Man! Should've added his Gold Medal to that kid, that's the true mark of the brutha. All the best Uso! 💪🏾🇳🇿

  3. Met this man at OR Tambo airport. He's a unit. Left me speechless. He was bigger than all of the forwards except Luaki.. Only other guy who had the same effect on me was Stirling Mortlock..

  4. I tend not to remember his tries..

What remains vivid in my mind from his skills was his ability to pinpoint a dwarf in the misty mountains somewhere which always led to a try..

That ability of his is what really pissed me off as an opposition supporter..

Most of his tries came on a plate but his offloading antics and finding ghosts to score tries was frustrating..

    Nuff respect!!

  5. SBW was a legend. Probably was not shown enough respect by many AB fans because he dared to dream beyond the AB’s in a beautiful country but where AB’s is the end all and it is a sin to dream beyond the AB’s. In time, he might be recognised as NZ’s greatest SPORTSMAN.

  6. “Midfield maestro” yet half of his highlights are him scoring the rugby equivalent of a tap-in goal in football. High overrated and was a much better league than union player. Never deserved to be an All Black realistically
