Hollie Doyle gave Bradsell a brilliant ride to land a dramatic running of the King’s Stand Stakes, as the Archie Watson-trained colt earned a second Royal Ascot win in as many years.
Bradsell landed the six-furlong Coventry Stakes last term, yet had shown plenty of speed in his recent work and his trainer was able to persuade connections to supplement him for the five-furlong dash.
Doyle, gaining her fourth Royal Ascot success, was positive from the stalls aboard the three-year-old and had Highfield Princess for company throughout, in a race few ever really got into.
But it was not all plain sailing for Doyle and Watson, who had to survive a stewards’ inquiry as Bradsell – sent off a 14-1 chance – drifted left in the final furlong and intimidated 7-4 favourite Highfield Princess and jockey Jason Hart.
After an agonising deliberation by the stewards, it was a sweet success for Watson, who had to endure Dragon Symbol losing the 2021 Commonwealth Cup after an inquiry.
Doyle’s mount had three-quarters of a length to spare at the line, with 50-1 shot Annaf running a huge race to be third for Mick Appleby.

Winner definitely should have been thrown out. You can see highfield princess begin to close and just as she does, Doyle’s horse goes over. Trainer was demoted before with Dragon Symbol so I reckon that’s played a part.
Americans just come over and go for the made all but instead made nothing finished last 3 in there 2 races so don't bet on any of them
A 3 year old Australian filly weighted as an older mare and a non Group 1 winner failed at Ascot.
On behalf of Australian racing may I say we are shocked and devastated. The extensive media and press coverage leading in within Australia reflected our high hopes and every pundit in the land expected a quinella. This is really a back to the drawing board moment for the industry.

Hollie deserved the 4 day ban for not correcting her horse enough. She should have straightened the horse with the reins and not just switch the whip.
This horse won fair and square. The second horse was never getting up.
At least they're consistent. They never seem to take the number down when a jockey allows the horse to drift into the path of another. This was very similar to the Irish Champions' Stakes a couple years ago when St Mark's Bassilica held off Tarnawa while carrying her out to the outer rail. It's a fine line, but if the jockey on HP had stopped driving his horse, he probably forces the stewards to DQ.
The troubling thing about this one is that it's hardly the first time a horse ridden by Doyle has drifted or wandered dangerously into the path of other horses. Platinum Queen was all over the track at York when beaten by HP, and there have been several other similar rides from her.

Not complaining about this in particular but i dont see the point in stewards in the uk, they never get involved. If that horse had lost by a nose they still wouldnt have reversed it.
Forget the controversy.. What takes my eye is how good Hollie has become. Nobody could spot the lady rider in running here Shes the finished article now, with few peeers, even amongst the men ..A class act
I think the right horse won and the right jockey, Holly Doyle is a great jockey that has great horsemanship and let's the horse flo to victory, if I had a top line string of horses she would be my choice to ride them, some flowers for her, 🌹🌹🌹🌹
