love how people get entitled and say stuff like " let him go to saudi arabia " like comments and JIM the presenter did.. LOL… LET HIM HAHAHAHA.. who are you to tell anyone how to earn their money HAHAHAHA… ruben neves couldnt care less about anyone in here
How far short of selling your own mother will be stop. Watch lower league football and enjoy football as it intended. My club looks to be slipping into Qatar ownership and fans are happy. The Glazers were not good for us , but letβs see just how much our next treble will cost.
Money is the reason all the best players of the world come to europe to play football instead of football clubs back home. Theres no other reaaon. So now complaining about money is really cringe π¬π¬π¬
There's nothing wrong or disappointing to see a player choosing to earn astronomical amount of money
Oscar took the wage didn't like the stage . As a working man money helps everyone
There has to be a point where integrity is more important than money. Sums up some players that they would rather play in a piss poor league
WHAT A LOSER!!!
JUST AFTER THE MONEY!!!!
Neves is a smart guy
Im waiting for that 1 english player to go to Saudi and watch the hypocrisy from the mediaπ. Neves has been decent for years, no one has gone for him, cant hold it against him. Wolves are cashing in, simple. The other older players are getting a bumper pay package but will also represent their culture and faith in a league similar to theirs. Football doesn't belong to Europe, it is for the world. For a country not to help some of their oldest football clubs from going out of business, we are in no position to be critical of someone else. There wasn't any outburst when players were signing up to join the MLS. They have the money and from the only examples we have seen from middle Eastern ownership, they are at least investing not only on players but stadiums, infrastructure, training facilities, local areas etc. Good for them. Anyone who says they wish they wouldn't want a state owned football club who will invest from top to bottom in a football club which evidently has resulted in some form of success may initially disagree but come the results, better football and ultimately trophies couldn't say they wouldn't want that for their football club. If you dont want to watch it, don't watch it.
I told you 2 years ago that English football was living on nearly empty oxygen bottles to keep it breathing… just! The EFL/EPL will not resume for 24/25 season. The corporations have got what they wanted in putting all clubs, not in debt now, but will be once the federation collapses. They will all have to be sold for as much as 1p, everyone of the 92 clubs. Oh, and no doubt PIF, Saudi will be instrumental in doing to football what they did to golf
No one will be remembered for βsuccessβ in Saudi Arabiaβ¦
Canβt begrudge anyone for picks the biggest pay cheque. However if I was Ruben Iβd stay in a major league & focus on winning honours, which in return will give me so much wealth that even my future generations will benefit from. I mean getting Β£2-6 million a year is more than enough.
Its disappointing that an employee agrees to being payed by the highest paying employerπ€
Stop hating
I would play un Saudi too
Why not
Didn't the english league start all this by paying massive fees and ridiculous wages?
Chelsea and City have been doing this for years and nothing has been done.
In all Uk tv shows they are talking about Chinese example. Nobody can mention MLS, the American will kick them ass*.
The complete lack of self awareness here is hilarious. Chelsea spent half a billion in January to finish 12th, Bournemouth spending twice as much money as Serie A in January to finish 15th and Nottingham Forest getting promoted and spending Β£150m in the summer to finish 16th.
And yet weβre all supposed to feel bad because the league that spent 79% of all the transfer fees of the big five leagues in January is losing one player from a mid table team to the Saudis over money.
The Premier League has completely changed the transfer market for years spending insane money on players who arenβt good enough. And here we are hearing the βwoe is meβ nonsense about a Wolves player taking the money from somewhere else.
This is pure hypocrisy. Saudi is doing the sane thing the premiership has been doing for so long.
Oscar was so honest when went China n he was btr than neves, it's life changing n football a short career n Ruben has changed his family's life.
Fifa will start letting Sauidi teams in CL watch by 2030
"you could say it's a very short career" haha Keown you melt
I think it's a bit arrogant to assume it's solely about the money for a player like Kante. He's a devout muslim, who has been to Saudi Arabia before on pilgrimmage. There are definitely cultural reasons why it could appeal to him as well. Same for Benzema and I'm sure plenty of other players who are going.
Of course the money is a factor, but there are other reasons why Saudi might appeal more than China or the US, for example.
