Chelsea are hoping to trim down their squad and offload some of their high earners. This means players like Kai Havertz could be on their way out. Surprisingly Arsenal are one of the teams keen on bringing the German to North London.

Havertz is a versatile attacker, but hasn’t been great for Chelsea. So why do Arsenal want him?
JJ Bull explains.

  1. I think what Arteta values most in players is attitude and character. Just like Pep he looks for an exact profile to fit into the team. Havertz has shown nothing but complete willingness to play in uncomfortable position, And tried his best to adapt to what he was required to under every different Chelsea manager. Never seen him complain or have any drama that alot of players in his situation would have.

  2. It is wild to me that Chelsea is confortable letting him go but keep Mudryk and CO who are way less talented than he is. Havertz is constantly the Focus point of criticism for his finishing yet he is no striker and Chelsea seems to make an efford not to sign one.

  3. Arsenal would be the last Kroenke team to have not won the most coveted silverware on it's respective league. Arsenal fans should be rejoice, he'll spend money like madman.

  4. havertz will replace xhaka. i don't really understand why jj is making things so complicated in terms of havartz' role in the arsenal team.

  5. I just think he’s too often like Bambi on ice – he’s would excel in a 10 role off the right but that’s we’re odegaard operates… personally I’d be happy to sell him

  6. Not gonna lie, as good as arteta has been, I can't help feeling that signing two attacking players with Jesus and now potentially Havertz is strange. Both are below average finishers and have proven to be inefficient over multiple seasons with both finishing below their XG. Surely a direct foil to Jesus and his energetic but poor finishing would be a good idea

  7. He work better on the wing then as a 9. Hes not better than Jesus as a 9, so thats nonsensical. But, hes better than Matinelli. Thats where I see him, as Sakas wingpartner

  8. Can he just replace xhakas position and have free roam on the attack and his defensive numbers are good also when we get havertz we’ll have so much more options but what will arsenal do about halogen I would sell nketiah and bring in Balogun as a backup and what about if he does really well maybe he’s a starter what will arsenal do ??

  9. This is so brilliant, I was just talking with my coworker about this trade and he said it was a waste. As someone who watched Havertz at Leverkusen and understands that his last season with Chelsea was truly underwhelming because Chelsea was just awful, I couldn't find the right ways to convince him of how ingenious this purchase could be for Arsenal, til now. I've shown him the video.

  10. Havertz is coming in to replace xhaka. I think he can do everything that xhaka can do, but with a bit more silk and flair. Can see mikel turning him into an 8

  11. As a Chelsea fan I really hope we keep him. I do feel as if this will be like with KDB all over again if we sell him.

Not only do I want to keep him as he's quality and a big part of the current squad, but also with us investing all in this youth, we need more players in their peak and with Mount, Ziyech going and Nkunku coming in, we would be in a lot better position to get the most out of him.

  12. Plenty players we need to get rid of ahead of Kai and Mount. Frusturating. Poch would get a great tune out of Kai like he did with Delli and Mount is literally made for Poch (and every manager really).

  13. Going from spending too much time with a literal PE teacher in Lampard (literally half his time at Chelsea was under Lampard) to Mikel Arteta, coaching genius, should be illegal. The gains he's about to make.

  14. 5:35 thats exactly what i think how havertz will be played at arsenal. He will take xhaka position but more forward role. Thats why arteta wants to buy Rice to provide more security at the back.

  15. He's amazing off the ball, both in offensive and defensive situations. He improves Arsenal's press on Day 1. This is an amazing signing.

  16. Feels his best position is in midfield .Would be a good replacement for Xhaka or as a false 9 . Think Chelsea didn't use his passing range and creativity to the fullest.Still think Arsenal shouldve tried for Firmino as back up st

  17. JJ " he hardly scores goals….is he a number 9 is he a number 10 nobody knows" this is so accurate as a Chelsea fan I wish we had a striker to play with him

  18. As an arsenal fan, I'm praying this move doesnt happen. Ive never seen anything special in this guy. He's not technically gifted, hes not a great playmaker and hes a terrible finisher. Even when he scores it looks like an accident.

  19. All this analysis is cool but Havertz is a poor signing, you don’t need to go into detail to realise that

  20. Why do people say "He scored in the Champions League final" as if to say that means he is a great player..

Do they realize he's only scored 6 CL goals in his career from 31 games? Meaning he scores on average 1 goal every 5 – 6 UCL games…

That CL Final goal was literally the only CL goal he scored that season -_-

Not saying anything about him as a player but why bring up that one point over and over, expecially since 2021..

  21. If i ever need to know what a player will offer my team, Tifo are my first port of call. I understand Havertz a little bit more now than i did. Thanks guys!
