  1. Yes I think he be a good addition to the squad but we will have to wait and see if the roumers are true time will tell HWTLS šŸ–¤šŸ¤šŸ–¤šŸ¤

  2. i agree that i would not go any higher then 40 mill the only way i see him going to spurs is if they are willing to go higher unless he puts his foot down and says hes not going to spurs

  3. Getting exciting, 14th not long away, i think Eddie and NUFC want business done immediately so watch this space…signings completed in 2 weeks i reckon…get that Fun 88 off the wallšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

  4. We havent even bid for so how can we be leading the race? Hope you're right though. I mean last year between the fans & media pacquetta was a done deal yet the club never once showed interest

  5. James is a good player but it's bad business. He has 1 year left, 28yo, relegated side. Yeah he is English so there is that tax added on but it shouldn't be any more than 30mil. If we are spending 50 on maddison we may as well pay sbozli release clause of 70m for a player just as good. 5 years younger and a national team captain. I think maddison will struggle to keep up with the fitness, get injured and be a waste of money. He is a great player but I think we are being bumped here. I trust Eddie and know Eddie will take him to that next level but we will get maybe 3 years at the most out of him before he needs replacing. That's just what I think anyway I could be wrong and he could win us the UCL and the prem next season and I'd look like a tit and honestly I would rather that than be right about this

  6. I'm still against signing Maddison. But I wonder if the club will explore a player + cash deal. Leicester still need players, & we have a bunch of lads who'd be willing, I'm sure. Even if it's loan deals.

  7. If this is based off the Sky Sports report I’d genuinely love to know what part of the article that was pretty much an opinion piece lead to the conclusion in their clickbait headline that ā€œNewcastle lead Spursā€ as if there’s been some kind of development

Because having read through the article it seems to come down to the point of we have Champions League football…which we already knew over two weeks ago, so what is actually the development of something new in regards to Maddison?!? because there’s nothing in the article about a bid, agreeing a fee, Maddison’s feelings on a move or anything substantial that would indicate there’s been a development.

Feels more like a journalist having to meet a quota and just published his thoughts dressed up as a transfer development.

Not saying the deal won’t happen just seems like people looked at the headline and not much else in the article and then other news outlets have regurgitated it like some game of Chinese whispers

  8. In your opinion, what would be better for the club, Maddison and Tyler Adams, or Zsoboslai?
If it costs £75 either way, what makes more sense?

  9. He's absolutely class… is he the missing link .. no, but I think he would definitely improve us. I think he could play a number of positions, right of the three in midfield, right or left of the front three also..

  10. I don't want to offend you or the people you work with on the channel but I don't think this is a credible story.

This "leading the race" comment came from Sky Sports last Sunday on what was clearly a slow news day.

I say that because Sky’s "story" really only says two things 1) Newcastle United are interested in signing James Maddison and 2) Champions League football could give us an edge over Spurs. Neither of these facts are new we have a long-standing interest in the player and we can offer him top European football and Spurs can't.

Beyond that Sky's assertion that we are "leading the race" isn't backed up by any real detail. There are no comments from sources at Leicester or Newcastle, no timeline for a bid, no indication that any discussions have taken place regarding a fee.

There are reports that the player himself wants to live in London. I think Spurs will be desperate to beat us to his signature so they can claim they are still a force in the Premier League. For that reason I think they would be willing to pay way over the odds for him and we quite rightly won’t get drawn into a bidding war, especially not for a player with 12 months left on his contract. So I certainly wouldn't rule out James going to Spurs instead.
