  1. Congrats to our brothers from the Great White North!!You guys making a final is legit progress. Like your coach, his confidence is a blessing and a curse for yall, but to go from irrelevant to a WC and now a NL final? Alot to be proud of…just like I am of my beloved USMNT-Back to Back Nations League Champions🥇🥇

  2. Bernardo Silva dominated Davies big time in the CL, both sides of the ball. Davies couldn't dribble him and Silva played through him like he wasn't there. He hasn't really been great for Bayern Munich all season. I'm not going to blame the player though, he works really hard and has a big tendency with Canada to push too hard. The lack of playing time up front really showed, he wasn't in sync with his deliveries despite all the chances created.

I don't think it's Davies struggling, so much as the new five subs and the way teams are using their CM's and wingers to attack the forward spaces while tucking their fullbacks that's killing him. He loses a lot of his super powers when he's having to come back to defend wingers and midfielders, then also asked to attack deep down the wing. Teams can roll subs over onto him as well now with the five subs rule so players don't have to converse their energy against him anymore out of fear of his raw pace. If one guys going to play a full 90 and the others are 55-65 then it evens the odds a lot.

The biggest problem he has right now at club level is Bayern is LOADED at wing. With playing time to get familiar with playing up front again he could be one of the best in the world, absolutely lethal playing the Vinny Jr or Mbappe role. He's exactly the same profile of player. World footballs evolved more in the last two years than it probably has in the previous twenty, he needs to play further forward with the way the games played these days. Two years ago, he was the best wingback in the world, right now you need a more old school fullback, at least on one side. Even then Davies doesn't fit the inverted mold of a Stones, TAA, Camavinga, Trippier or Zinchenko who are your more attacking options.

Two giants of the premier league were heavily committed to the pure wingbacks style of play over the last two season. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea and they both went from top four to dumpster fires who couldn't get a result to save their lives the second half of the season. Only really Inter made it work this year and their rosters going to get picked to the absolute carcass this offseason so we'll see how long they can keep it going for.

  3. The analysis was fair; I disagree with Herdman’s comments that the team “left it all on the pitch”… Lack of grit, chemistry and finishing from several that we expected more from…

  4. Solid insight regarding how the Canadian midfield struggles to keep possession, so David and Larin are too often starved of service.

Canada relies too much on the counter to create scoring opportunities. Ironically, that reminds me of how the USMNT was for years.

  5. kJ was spot on. Many problems with the National Team on and off the pitch. Everyone came off looking worse except for Vitória. But this is it, this is what football at this level is. Hopefully we iron out where Davies is going to play, make a decision on our goalkeeper, get some funds syphoned into the program (from where, who know’s with our CSB deal) and start to bring back that hunger that saw us play some good football in the past.
    Time is staring now.
    Allez les Rouges.

  6. Love KJ Brutal honesty the USA was clearly the better team !.Some glaring issues What did bringing in Phil Neville do ? Sit Vitoria for Kennedy who thought that was a good idea Borjan needs to go out with Attiba need a younger more aggressive keeper in the box.Big game John what was the game plan tonight ?
We just got trucked tonight .KJ 💯on his analysis well said❗.

  7. I'm sorry but Canada sucks at football & not being able to even find this game to watch on TV, is a clear sign Canada don't care about football either! I came to this country from the UK, when I was 11. I played on teams in my city of Thunder Bay & no Canadian kids could even touch me! I was scoring more goals, than there was games & having a hay day every game! I could probably come out of retirement at age 52 & make 20 year old Canadians look ridiculous still! I don't even support Canada when it comes to football because whats the frigging point! The game never even advanced here in 40 years & the Woman have been superiorly better than the men, yet the Women are the ones being screwed over!😆🤟

  8. Guys no changes would have made a difference. We have to come to the realization that the US is far and away better. The US pulled off in the second half the score could have been worse. The US was also missing Tyler Adams Sergio Dest Weston McKinnie and more players as well

  9. If Canada is to play a back line of 3 they need a sweeper that has Telepathy with Borjan which will reduce goals against by 1 per game. Keep Davies up front as an attacking striker, let him coordinate the transition game o n the left side and have Tajon Buchanan roaring up the right side with Osorio. David as supporting Striker for Larin and use Lucas Cavallini when available. Stephen Eustáquio as Center Midfielder is always good. Kone to one side or the other.

  10. LEGENDARY commentary by KJ. Also hilarious to hear Herdman use the exact same excuses he was hoping not to hear.

I do get Herdman’s perspective though, his comment was a clear shot at Canada Soccer. Shameful that even Panama had been training for 10 days before CanMNT, and it makes absolutely no sense.
