  1. What you gotta appreciate is his anticipation skills. He ain't a fast player. The guy's got no pace. Theoretically the opposition should be able to get there and make the pass before Sergio can get in the way. However, it's his knowledge of the game and anticipation of passes which sends him in the right direction soon enough to cut off the pass. It's a player like this who would most likely have some of the best success as a coach/manager because of their immense understanding of the game.

I see good things for Sergio in the future.

  2. Busquest was a maestro
When i started playing midfield when i was young my coach try to implement Busquest philosophy
He said our third touch is suppose to be a pass
So the first two touches where always critical and as a Barça fan
Busi you'll be missed dearly thank you for all those years

  3. Bruh Barca fans know what Busquets means..the game instantly changes as soon as he joins/departs the game, the shape the pace the control everything..and that's why Xavi's shitting his pants to find his replacement cause it's nearly impossible to find one…only player comes close right now is Rodri but he's with City.

  4. I'm going to paraphrase, but anyway Vicente Del Bosque once said "If you watch the game you game you don't see Busquets, but if you watch Busquets you see the game."

When he said that I didn't understand him, but when I started paying close attention to what he does, I could see that Busquets made Pep's Barca what it was. His awareness and the way he controlled and facilitated the game from deep was amazing, rarely losing the ball and dropping into pockets of space playing one touch passes into Xavi and Iniesta that would put the opposition in danger when they tried to press him, this left space for Neymar, Messi and the other world class attackers to do damage. Case in point, Messi's iconic winning goal in El Clasico at the Bernabau, the move started in Barca's defensive third, when Real Madrid pressed very high, Busquets pass to Roberto(who drove very well with ball btw) was key and is overlooked, but that simple pass and Roberto's run carved a hole in Madrid and allowed Barca to win the match, if he delayed that pass by a split second Madrid could've won the ball and they would've probably created a chance to win the game.

He's a Top 3 DM of all time imo. Great player who's impact on the beautiful game is understated, he's influenced players like Rodri who absolutely balled out in the CL final and long may it continue.🐐🐐

  5. If football, if life, were fair, he would be considered one of the best ever in the sport, not just in his position. Truly unique, genius, will be sorely missed

  6. If you appreciate football at its fullest, not just screamers and crazy dribbling videos on YouTube….You understand how great Sergio is…

  7. "Barca players are such artists with the ball. Neymar, Messi and Ronaldinho…the list goes on and on. Hey Sergio, you play for Barca right? What moves do you have?"

    Busquets: "I can spin."

  8. Busqets cant play in any other team than Barcelona , especially around xavi iniesta messi. There is a reason why they havent won anything with him at the centre after 2015, so i can say that he was an efficient player best suited to that system only.
Recently he is being overhyped and is being shown as underrated.

  9. He's the kind of player that some people only notice once he's left the club. It's hard to replace Busquets. He was the classy type that kept things simple which was crucial in a team full of players who are built different.

  10. Sergio Busquets was magic, I have never seen another play like him. He is always planning something, he sees the whole game. Like Muller in a way, a player that you can't quantify in stats and attributes, he just wins you games

  11. In the 2010 world cup. Busi didn't play the 1st match and Spain lost. After that he played every minute till the end of the final. At first i was shocked to see Alonso, Fabregas etc in the bench but this guy who didn't dribble, didn't shoot was always there. That's when i stated noticing him more and more. As I kept on observing him, I realised what a gem he was and how he controlled the play whitout even getting noticed. The opposition players sometimes looked foolish in front of him. Thank you Busi for teaching me how to watch football and prooving intelligence is above all abilities!
