Graham Arnold was proud of his team’s performance following the tentative start, seeing some promising combination play, before suggesting the younger players in the squad will learn from this experience.

  1. Our biggest problem is "finishing". We matched them in the mid field; we had lots of chances to score, but we don't have a Messi, who is probably the best finisher in the game.

  2. Good showing by the boys aside from the first couple of mins. Arnie said a few years ago the kids are coming & he's right. Gotta remember during the world cup the Socceroos were valued at $58 mil whilst Argentina was just shy of $1 billion, we're punching way above our weight and doing very respectable job of it.

  3. that’s the problem with you and Australia’s attitude. You should try to win and be frustrated at a loss no matter if it’s a team like Argentina. They should have a pissed off attitude at any loss no matter what.

  4. The fact that they didn’t get pissed off at the loss means they didn’t care enough about winning because they resigned to the fact that it’s Argentina and they’ll win anyway.

  5. This coach should tell the players to take a shot at goal it seems like too many passes then turnovers and go nowhere.

  6. World cup champions against a team in which half the country is against in terms of support (AFL, NRL, Cricket, get more exposure). We took it to Argentina two times, once in the world cup and in this friendly. The boy’s involved should be proud and Australians should be excited, the youth teams are flourishing around the world with wins in multiple tournaments against decent teams and many local players are moving overseas left right and centre, many local A-League teams have finally finished setting up centre of excellence facilities, the future is bright and i hope all Australians can get around the A-League! The more supporters the A-League gets will equal more sponsors and money invested, the more investments equals better facilities and better players! I hope by the next mens world cup we will have proper depth, players doing great in Europe also locally then hopefully we can continue to progress further in the world cup! Next up, Asian Cup!
