Ive been watching barça since my dad first got cable back in the 90s. I was there when messi first debuted to his last game. Day in day out week in week out. At this point i dont care of any other signings i dont want anyone. Might as well keep those horrible players like Ferran, Eric Garcia and kessie etc…….

Thank God this thing is over. It was actually over in 2021. Messi hasn’t been a Barca player since the Summer of 2021. Barca has spent those years slowly starting a new golden era with young players like Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, Balde, etc. Bringing Messi back would’ve hampered the growth of the team. Tom Wolfe said it best when he said “you can’t go home again”. And I am glad that this door is finally shut. Hopefully people can stop talking about Messi in regards to Barcelona in the present tense. I love talking about Messi when he WAS with the team. But he’s not. He hasn’t been for years. He actually went to a very hated club in PSG (they tempted Neymar away and to me they are the second worse team next to Real Madrid). His dad, Jorge has been nothing but poison. I believe Jorge was the one who pressured Messi not to resign with Barcelona before his last contract expired in June 2021. Messi let it run down and then he couldn’t register. I believe Jorge knew that and it was he that wanted Messi to leave Barca. Jorge also was the one who started the “Messi as victim” BS. Messi was the greatest player in history. He doesnt have that talent anymore. He’s still very good but doesnt play a 100% game. Xavi needs all his players on the pitch to be willing to go 100% up and down the field. Messi doesnt do defense. That would’ve complete screwed up the flow of the team. Barcelona won when Messi signed with Inter Miami because this whole saga has been a stone around Barcelona’s neck. I hope Messi enjoys Miami and the casual “soccer” of the MLS. It’s still better than Saudi Arabia and Senior Walking Football. But it’s truly a dead league due to the fact that the majority of the league owners (or whatever they’re referred to as) dont want promotion/ relegation. Which would be interesting to see right now because Inter Miami are dead last. I’d love to see Messi in the USL or NASL or whatever the second division of US “soccer” would be like with pro/ rel. The transfer window is already very active, clubs are signing players for preseason but we are here wondering who's coming and who's not. Are we really clear about what we want? I know it's tough for the management but you should have a plan B after Messi… It will safe us a lot if we wrap things up quickly and start preparing for the new season.

Laporta has shown that he could pull things through like he did in the last window, I look forward to him doing something greater this summer and putting the team on a bigger winning path this new season… Let's be quick with it

Messi tried to help Barcelona by leaving in 2020. Back then his hands were tied by Bartomeu. Now he is helping by not coming back. There are so many things to fix in this squad, and Messi's wages would've directly restricted what other signings could be done.

1. Elite-level right back. Koundé/Araujo is more than good enough as backups.
2. Better left back cover. Alba was one of the best 2nd choice left backs in the world. Who do we have now? Alonso? Not good enough.
3. Two midfielders, one of whom should be good enough to be a starter.
4. A center forward. Lewy should not be the only reliable option. Also, we don't want him to play every game at his age.
5. Left wing?

They need to go after Kimmich, Bernardo, Roque hard.

FC Barcelona need to admit they didn't guarantee anything to Messi

Given that we didn’t get Messi, why not Neymar? He’s only 31. Wants to be poster boy of the team. And will be, given that we have no world class strikers (in their prime)

Tbh, millions of people our generation, outside Spain started to admire Barcelona because of Leo. I personally, loved that little boy who did magic in the pitch which resonated my DNA into Barcelona. Since, then I never ever missed any Barca matches even after Messi's leaving.
Millions of Indians wake up till 3AM to watch Barca's matches and I know, it's Leo's influence.
But, what Laporta and Barca management did? They brutally kicked him out. We are not damn fools, they never sent him official proposal at all. Just did, all those dramas to put them in right place in order to avoid blames on their head.

I am not buying this B.S from Xabi. He won a Championship with Barcelona as a coach and if he was really pressing on Laporta to have Messi , they would have get him. But all these nonsense saying that it was Messi`s decision, is absolutely a lie. Messi's wife and kids wanted to go back to their natural environment which is Barcelona. They did not say we want to go live in Miami U.S.A.
Messi did not have any other choice but to accept Miami's offer. Deeply inside in his heart , I am 100% sure Messi wanted to go back to Barcelona for two years retire there and later on to be part of the team as a manager. But, Joan Laporta is a liar and was scared for his job at Barcelona. He knew that once Messi is back he will be out and Messi will get his position. This is not how the world's best football player should be treated. Shame on Barcelona managers.
