Joel Embiid is one of the most interesting conundrums in the NBA today. He’s a six time All star with an MVP but has trouble getting out of the 2nd round. Today, we explore why that is and explain why it’s been a bigger issue than just this series.

  1. Emplead is a great player but he is not a leader, stops ball movement by iso jab stepping for 15 seconds, and shoots to draw free throws instead of shooting to score, which is great for regular season stats but foul baiting never works that much in the playoffs. That’s why he will never be a number 1 option on a championship team

  2. I feel like you should've mentioned his history of knee injuries around playoff time, and how that could impact his mobility, making the strategy of attacking him in the pick and roll even more viable. Otherwise, this was a good video

  3. Haven’t even watched the video just commenting on the title, there’s no fucking conundrum, Joel Embiid can not and will not carry you to a title, he doesn’t have it in him. Take that Rudy Gobert package and get more than Utah did. Dude is a flopping fraud bitch, no dog in him whatsoever.

  4. Embiid imho is one of those fake superstars that shine in the regular season doing a couple of things over and over, but crumbles when defense focus on them for lack of versatility. It doesn't help that Harden is another such onedimensional player that fizzles in the playoffs.

  5. He’s just a big bum who like his coach blames everyone else for his loses. I hope he stays in Philly forever. They deserve the scrub.

  6. Embid is a regular season player. Funny that Perkins called Jokic a stat padder but that’s exactly what Embid is. Embid doesn’t make other players better.

  7. Embid will cherish his awards because with the new minimum games played rules, he won’t win any more of them

  8. Embiid was visibly not 100% healthy, his mobility was limited during the Celtics series. In game 5 we saw Embiid chase blocking Jaylen Brown successfully, but he was limping. Boston did a great job spotting Embiid limitations on the defensive end. On offense Joel played poorly even because Doc let him play most of the time almost like a small forward instead of a Center. I mean, we all know he can shoot well in many ways, but with a bad knee why he didn't rely more on playing inside the paint? Being a dynamic Center with a reliable jump shot becomes a limit when you can't fully abuse your athletism. The '5' most reliable ability is being the biggest guy on the team and Embiid doesn't really seem to use his size more when the game slows down. Jokic is no near the athlete Embiid is, but he knows better how to take advantage of his size and that is more important in NBA Playoffs where the game become slower. Maybe playing in a more conservative way would help Embiid at staying healthy when it matters the most

  9. He is a great player with flaws that were exposed by better coaches than Doc. What I don't like the most about him is his attitude. He cried his way to an MVP, when things are good, he is super confident and trash talks, when things are bad, he blames others or cries like a little girl. Basically, he's a douche same as Harden and their daddy Daryl Morey.

  10. Embiid has a lack of urgency in his game. He coasts if he doesn’t get his touches and regularly underperforms when the stakes are highest. It will be interesting to see if another coach can get more out of him. He has the talent, he just lacks direction and maturity
