A new contract for Dier would cement Levy's commitment to profit and mediocrity.
If Ryan Mason has quickly worked out that Dier shouldn't be in the starting lineup why on earth would Levy be talking about a new contract?

One of the aspects.of.levy's involvement in football matters at the club that I despise is the affect it has on young players. Gil makes the point that constant upheaval is horrid for the players, frankly it is embarrassing.

That's the problem with Daniel Levy how can you be talking contract talks with players when you don't have a manager. So you have to force players that the manager don't want because he is already on a long time contract. What a club.
Too many players in the squad who are 'untouchable'. Players like Dier and Lloris should have been moved on years ago. Not only do they hang around dialling in poor performances but they block the pathway for young players or new recruits. There's a few others who need to move on too. It's just rewarding mediocre players.
