The three years in the Ryan era that stand out to me are 2012, 2016, and 2017 as missed opportunities. The 08 and 10 teams were too young, and the other teams weren’t good enough.
The 2012 team was very good on both sides of the ball. They showed a lot of heart and will to win that game against Seattle after nearly completely blowing it, and controversial calls and blown plays ended up costing us against San Francisco imo, I still to this day believe we were the better team.
We know what happened in 2016.
The 2017 team was also very well balanced! Top 10 offense and defense in most statistics, if we found any sort of rhythm in Philly then maybe we could’ve made a run, but we didn’t.

Super Bowl 51, Super Bowl 52, and Super Bowl 56 are all recent Super Bowls in which the entire country was rooting for one team. The Falcons in 51, the Eagles in 52, and Bengals in 56. Two out of three of those Super Bowls (51 and 52) involved the Patriots. Brady sure does know how to make people unite.
As a Falcon fan, Thomas Dimitroff really ran this team into the ground. he did real good his first 5-6 years here, but outside the 2016 draft, it was nothing but bad contracts and bad drafting.
