Canadian men’s national team head coach John Herdman speaks to media after Canada drew Mexico 1-1 at Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, Mexico in the final round of 2022 World Cup qualifying Thursday. Jonathan Osorio scored for Canada – their first goal on Mexican soil since 1980.

Canada is just the 10th team in World Cup qualifying to grab a draw or better against Mexico at the Azteca as they look to qualify for their first FIFA World Cup since 1986.

  1. Fantastic result. I still remember the 8-0 thrashing Canada suffered at Azteca back in the early 90's albeit Azteca was more intimidating then than it is today. Still, Canada has come a long way since then.

  2. So proud of the boys! Great performance last night. Herdman is a great coach. I love his attitude. Looking forward to Sunday's game against Jamaica! Go Canada!

  3. The Process is slow and steady. Coach Herdman speaks on behalf of the whole team's disappointment, knowing that they are presently standing in their own way. The day Canada gets a win against Mexico will be the result of a collective leveling up from within.
    "Go Team Canada"!! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ .
