  1. Ross doesn’t do the hard yards in games and especially training. Teammates have mentioned it. He was on the pop too. He didn’t fulfil what was expected because of his own ill discipline. He was the stand out player of his age group when young but unlike players who go on to be superstars he didn’t want to knuckle down and be committed to the level that’s required. It happens. Some players don’t have the mentality. His successes and failures were purely down to him. The major leg break at 16 definitely affected him and his trajectory and subsequent injuries didn’t help. He still achieved a good level and had a lot of talent but he is a ‘what might have been’ poster boy.

  2. This failure shoukd talk to that fool Goldbridge who seems to think that s foreign pasdport means you get critisized

  3. That's because we have a smaller tolerance for lazy players. Unless your team is far superior than opponents in prem lg you dont get to be lazy

  4. Basically you get players who essentially do not want to track back, Follow runners, its ok when it's Ronaldo. But when it's Ross Barkley people are not going to except it.

  5. “Ross Barkley is still a young player” the Bloke is 29 years old, honestly stop giving that absolute useless pundit agbonlahor a platform, he hasn’t a clue 😂

  6. Roberto is right.
English players are under rated because of their nationality.

E.g Jack Wilshere was top quality, but his injury record was so bad, he never did anything. Same with Santi Cazorla.
Yet only the English player got abuse for his injuries.

Then you've got Son. He's had an AWFUL scoring season at Spurs, yet NO ONE has mentioned it. Imagine if Kane had scored like 7 times all season, it would be headline news.

  7. Maybe if Pedro Gonçalves was Spanish he would be more appreciated by Roberto Martinez and would call him for the Portugal national team. A player that ended the season with a 35 goal contribution in goals and assists. Maybe if he was Spanish, maybe…

  8. Barkleys problems are he is thick and lazy. Saw him first at Everton in a preseason friendly at Oxford Utd and was genuinely excited by him. The best player on the field by a country mile. However once is the first team it was clear he wasn't interested. Disappeared when the going got tough, and was more interested in being seen around the city, more often than not full of beer. A classic case of being 'a superstar' before becoming a footballer. Gordon is on the same track. Oh, and this from a bloke who thought Ryan Ledson would be destined for great things.

  9. In terms of Physical and Technical gifts, he's one of the best we've ever produced. His problem has always been the Mental side of the game. He's not the most intelligent and he hasn't got the drive to work for his teammates. I'd still love to have him back at Everton and see if Dyche could get something out of him. And as a free transfer, think it's worth a go.

  10. I,m more baffled that Martinez keeps getting high profile jobs. He has achieved absolutely nothing in his career. Done more damage to Belgium than anybody could have imagined, totally useless excuse for a manager.

  11. would he? i see benat who used to play for bilbao, unbelievable ball playing midfielder. but never heard anybody rated him in spain. so was juan valeron, spain didnt rate him enough. at times he didnt even getting called up to national team

  12. Ross has earned something like 50m quid over the past 10 years. He's smashed life. If you no anything about the city of Liverpool, he's absolutely cracked it.

  13. This is music to Ross Barkley's ears. Quickly, Ross. Find a Spanish/Portugeuse girl, marry her, move to Portugal and you are straight into Roberto Martinez's Portugal squad. What are you waiting for, Ross? You can do this, you better believe it. 😆😄😃😁😀

  14. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂average player who is nothing special and shown that he’s nothing special what a stupid comment

  15. Barkley doesnt work hard enough, he play well when he wants to otherwise he would ALWAYS be in the team baring injuries. Roberto has something in his eyes.

  16. its the same story for 99% of English players… get paid too much too young and think they are better than what they are. I remember seeing Michael Johnson at City back in the day he was total class and he threw it away, and then Wilshere… you could have a 30 player list of the same thing

  17. Can’t disagree more about Barkley, he’s just too lazy, was on fire early at Villa but then just fell off the edge of the map after a while. One of the biggest drop offs in a player..

  18. Barkley's first season was like Zidane reincarnated, strange why it went so wrong after that

  19. Mount the routine starter is (or was) a big part of the FEAR of Chelsea becoming the next Spurs/Arsenal or Liverpool/Man United when for ages they couldn't get in the top four and/or win a trophy. If Barkley had played nearly every game all those years like their beloved Mount, Kova and Jorgi his highlights reel would be at least a week long, even with Chelsea's dodgy forwards…

  20. I still can’t take Martínez seriously ever since he was filmed dancing like a camp matador at a Jason Derulo concert.

  21. Has anyone in football history failed more relentlessly upward than Roberto Martinez? They guy should give classes on how to trick peope into overlooking how under qualified your are in interviews, but I'm sure he'll have no time, because he'll probably get the Real Madrid job after he fails at managing Portugal.

  22. I watched Ross as a 10/11 year old centerback at everton. He was absolutely brilliant.
A blind man on a galloping horse could see he had what it took to make it to the top.
He was physically bigger and stronger than most his age, he could play, and he was loud and took control of the the whole box area.
You could see he was gonna make it at 11years old.
Although he’s not fulfilled his full potential on the pitch in terms of playing at the highest level for a consistent period and also internationally…
To come from where he did, with the poverty and unemployment surrounding him, he’s done pretty well for himself and will have experienced things most of us fans could only dream of.
I just hope he remembers where he comes from and the people who helped him get there, and in his own way gives a little bit back.
What he earns in a week, most people where he’s from wont earn in a lifetime.
