Weston Broke his foot, not ankle. My Mistake!
Williamson simply can’t play freely , it seems to me like gregs system is FORCED to me , doesn’t give the players the freedom to execute thieir specific personal talents and attributes . He plays our players out of position and expect them to learn a bs system that never works or berely works . Greg needs to wake tf up and see the natural talent he has . Let the players play freely. Don’t force football.
I will play Steffen, dest, richards, brooks, Robinson, Adams, Musah, and Alex Mendez, pulisic, Weah, and pepi. As backups have LDT, busio, tessmann, and Acosta along with Sargent and pefok up top..
Any chance we see Aaronson play in the middle at all? We have a lot of depth at winger and now missing two of our likely starters at cm
Well…..no worry, Gregg has Lleget , Zardes, Arriola or Roldan to fill Weston’s void haha 😂
Did anyone else feel that tackle by Pervis Estupinan on Weston Mckennie was dirty af? Can’t believe he didn’t even get carded.
Why not put Sargent there? He runs box to box for his club team. Putting Pulisic as a midfielder would be a massive mistake. Watching his games you know he can’t shield well and having him receive the ball in tough areas is in no way his strong suit. I would do adams, Musah, and Sargent.
Made my F’n week with the podcast news. Congrats and good luck guys! My dudes! 💪 🇺🇸
New Podcast sounds great Congratulations friendly Reminder be nice to Canadians ❤⚽️🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸 #Rude Canadians !
I still would like to see Duane Holmes get a shot again. Thought he performed well on his last call Up but has been ignored since.
Weston out hurts. Mid-field is also one of our shallowest position. What are your thoughts on these 4 guys for our 8s next window
Musah
De lA Torre
Busio
Julian Green (give this man a shot)
Soccer is called the "beautiful game" because of its simplicity. Gregg obviously missed that lesson and his arrogant dogmatism is making him try micromanage a game that is supposed to be freeflowing and constantly changing. Who the f@ck has POWERPOINTS in tactical sessions??? One wonders if he had Ronaldinho or Zidane at his disposal if he would still have them watch these presentations and force them to ball hawk balls in the midfield and mechanically force the balls out to the wings for toothless crosses…SMDH
I would love to be one of the fans you have on the podcast! Been listening to you guys for a while, and I believe you guys are an important voice for all of us USMNT fans all over the country and abroad. Thanks for all the work and live streams guys, cheers 🍻
"INdestructible"
Someone mentioned a 3-4-3, but I don't think we have the personnel to do that. We would need three very strong, mobile centerbacks. While Brooks and Richards can play that, I am less confident that Miles Robinson can, and I seriously doubt that Walker Zimmerman can (who has otherwise excelled in the 4 back setup). More importantly, the 3-4-3 relies heavily on wingbacks. While it is clear that Dest can play that role, Jedi could struggle. But, even more, we don't have any depth in that formation. Perhaps Scally has the athleticism to do get up the field as a backup, but nobody else is even close Yedlin? Cannon? No chance. Look at the struggles Chelsea has had once Chilwell and James went down. It is not a formation I think we can play.
I think Tac's suggestion of a 4-2-3-1 is an interesting one. With the injuries to McKennie and Reyna, it would allow us to get all of our best players on the pitch at once. Having Aaronson, Weah and Pulisic feeding Pefok/Pepi/Sargent sounds tasty. And Aaronson & Pulisic are willing to help win the middle with Adams and Musah. My only concern is that we would be much weaker defensively, as we would likely be asking Adams to push up the field a bit more in the 4-2-3-1, which would put the centerbacks on more of an island. They could likely do it against Panama and Costa Rica, but once we get to stronger competition we could struggle. I will will suggest that in a 4-2-3-1 John Brooks MUST play, as his ability to pass the ball upfield and break lines would be critical.
Final note: Anytime my son sees Lletget or Roldan on the roster (or worse, on the field), he yells, "What is Berhalter doing?!?!?". My son is 9. 🙂
To be stupidly optimistic, maybe Greg will finally bring in mihaljevic and Alan Sonora. But we kinda know it'll be Becky G's BF
im scared
My hamstring took well over a year.
… should be a red cross for injury. Not a swiss one 😉
I think this is right on. Hyper complexity stiffles creativity and leads to simplistic predictable play, because guys are over thinking. This isn’t football, where execution and repetition give you results. Soccer needs to have a broad structure, with room for players to riff off that. This is why Berhalter balk doesn’t work, and doesn’t generate goals and dangerous creative play, and it never has wherever he’s attempted to implement it.
